Montee sur le trone en 1837, la reine Victoria (nee de Hanovre) regnera jusqu'a sa mort en 1901. En 1840, elle epousa son cousin, le prince Albert de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha. Leprince consort, originaire d'Allemagne, importa bon nombre de traditions de Noel allemandes au Royaume-Uni. Ainsi, il fit decouvrir aux Anglais la coutume du sapin et les cartes de Noel, entre autres, contribuant largement au Noel typiquement anglaistel que nous le connaissons aujourd'hui.Bien que les chants de Noel font l'objet d'une longue tradition en Angleterre, de nombreuses melodies que nous chantons proviennent ducontinent europeen ou des Etats-Unis. Je savais bien que le celebrissimeSilent Night (Douce nuit) etait d'origine autrichienne et que Hark, the Herald Angels Sing (Ecoutez le chant des Anges) etait d'origine allemande. Pourtant, quelle ne fut pas ma surprise d'apprendre qu'Away in a Manger (Sur la paillefraiche) ou encore We Three Kings nous venaient des Etats-Unis et que Ding, Dong Merrily on High etait un noel d'origine francaise. Quoiqu'il en soit, j'ai reussi a constituer un canevas de melodies anglaises pour realiser cefestival de chants de Noel. >>Philip SparkeRemarques sur l'interpretation : Cet arrangement est adapte pour une interpretation avec ou sans Chœur. Hayato Hirose composed this dramatic piece based on the great journey of Marco Polo, Italian traveller and one of the first Europeans ever to visit Asia. In the 13th century, he made a long journey from Venice to Mongolia with his father. After his arrival, he was sent to the various regions in Asia by the Mongolian government to take notes about the culture, the people, and the way of life in those areas. Celebrate the life of this great explorer with this dynamic new concert work.Captain Marco is het eerste werk van Hayato Hirose voor blaasorkest. Hij componeerde het in 1998. Met dit dramatische werk smeedt de Japanse Hirose een muzikale band tussen Europa en Azie, waarbij de grote zeevaarder Marco Polo deverbindende factor is. Marco Polo was niet alleen een van de eerste grote ontdekkingsreizigers ooit, hij hield ook een logboek bij van zijn avonturen. In zijn tijd deed het letterlijk een boekje open over het verre Oosten. Nog steedsspreekt deze roemruchte kapitein tot de verbeelding. In ieder geval tot die van de componist, die er een mooie compositie aan wijdde...Captain Marco ist Hayato Hiroses erstes Werk für Blasorchester und wurde im Jahr 1998 komponiert. In diesem dramatischen Werk knüpft der Japaner Hirose ein musikalisches Band zwischen Europa und Asien, indem er das Leben des berühmten Handelsreisenden Marco Polo vertont. Kapitan Marco war nicht nur einer der ersten grossen Seefahrer und Entdecker überhaupt, sondern er hinterliess auch seine Erfahrungen in einem Buch, das den Europaern damals das ferne Asien erklarte und offensichtlich auch heute noch sehr inspirierend ist.Captain Marco est la premiere oeuvre pour orchestre d'harmonie d'Hayato Hirose, ecrite en 1998. Le compositeur nous emmene sur les traces du celebre aventurier et marchand venitien, Marco Polo, qui fut l'un des premiers Europeens a se rendre en Extreme-Orient. Hayato Hirose nous livre une oeuvre expressive, intense et epique. Captain Marco, composta nel 1998, e la prima opera per banda di Hayato Hirose. Un brano espressivo ed intenso, omaggio a colui che ancora oggi e considerato uno dei piu grandi esploratori di tutti i tempi: Marco Polo.

Elegy I 'Jealousy' werd genoemd naar het gelijknamige gedicht van John Donne. Jaloezie (Jealousy) roept een hele rij emoties op. Van teleurstelling, treurnis en verdriet tot boosheid en woede. Het gedicht Jealousy van Donneen ook het gelijknamige schilderij van Edvard Munch inspireerden Jacob de Haan om dit werk te componeren. En het is hem goed gelukt om alle emoties die bij jaloerse gevoelens horen muzikaal te verklanken! Een treffend concertwerkdat u niet mag missen...Elegy I 'Jealousy' wurde nach dem gleichnamigen Gedicht von John Donne benannt. Eifersucht (Jealousy) vermag eine ganze Reihe von Emotionen auszulosen - von Enttauschung, Trauer, Bedauern bis hin zu Arger und Wut. Von Donnes Gedicht und einem ebenfalls mit Eifersucht betitelten Gemalde von Edvard Munch inspiriert, ist es Jacob de Haan gelungen, all diese Gefühle in Musik umzusetzen. Ein bewegendes Konzertwerk, das Sie sich nicht entgehen lassen sollten.Elegy I: Jealousy (Elegie 1 : La Jalousie) a emprunte son nom au poeme eponyme de John Donne. La jalousie peut declencher de nombreuses emotions qui vont de la deception, de la peine et du regret a la colere ou a la folie. Toutes ces emotions ont trouve leur place dans cette composition, inspiree de trois formes d'art differentes : la poesie (Elegy I), la peinture (La Jalousie - Edvard Munch) ; la chanson (Je ne l'ose dire - Pierre Certon). La resonance affective et emotionnelle est forte. En un instant, l'auditeur est touche par ce qu'il entend.
