Berbiguier is primarily known for his methods and small ensembles for flutes composed during and after his education at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. The original edition from the archives, published by French publisher Janet and Cotelle, c. 1820, contains only three parts with no score. While the original aim was to assemble a full score while recreating the individual parts faithfully, editorial decisions were made throughout tocorrect many serious inconsistencies between the parts, especially regarding articulations and dynamics, and even including differences in tempo markings. The resulting standardized, consistent editions should allow students and teachers more effective - and more efficient - learning and instruction. Par TOMASI HENRI. French composer and conductor, Henri Tomasi (1901-1971) published Trois Pastorales for Flute Trio in 1964. As with his other wind compositions, Trois Pastorales was well-received by audiences. Tomasi was born in Marseille, but his Father and Mother were originally from La Casinca in Corsica. Despite being pressured in to musical studies by his parents, Tomasi dreamed of becoming a sailor, and during the summer, he stayed with his Grandmother in Corsica where he learnt traditional Corsican songs. However, in 1921, he began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire and went on to become ahigh profile composer and conductor. Tomasi did not forget his Corsican routes, often incorporating themes of the songs he had learned during the summers with his Grandmother in to his compositions. The Trois Pastorales are named; 1) Bolivian, 2) Cretan, and 3) Sicilienne. This Tomasi piece is suitable to an advanced Flute Trio, providing an exciting alternative addition to the ensemble repertoire./ Répertoire / 3 Flûtes Traversières

Par FRACKENPOHL ARTHUR. Divertimento is an original trio by Arthur Frackenpohl that was written at the request of a trio for a senior flute recital at the Crane School of Music. The first movement, Introduction, is in sonata form with two contrasting themes, closing section, short development and recapitulation. In the second movement, Passacaglia, the dorian theme is stated canonically, with variations on the eight bar theme and closing in quietly in the minor. The third movement is a lively Scherzo with a rhythmic first section employing some echo effects before moving into a more subdued and legato trio. The final movement is an energetic Fughetta, which uses the contrapuntal devices ofinversion, augmentation and stretto.
