That is true of global warming, of population, of economy, of pandemics. The second movement builds up to a huge climax after which the material of the fist slow part returns, but in a distorted and ghost-like manner. The Sonata dies away gloomily. Janne Malinen commissioned the work and premiered it in Tampere, Finland in June 2019.
