From Adagio for Strings Op. 11 Latin Only-A terrific SATB setting of Samuel Barber’s popular Agnus Dei (or Lamb of God). Taken from his 1936 composition Adagio for Strings Op.11 it is among the most familiar pieces of American concert music and has graced Film and Television with it’s poignant sincerity. It is a dignified simple work with the repetition of a rhapsodic section that rises to a climax the intensity gradually building and then falling away following the ‘arch’ form tradition.
