Die Violinschule ist die erste bedeutende Abhandlung des Geigenspiels in deutscher Sprache. Leopold Mozart geht dabei vor allem auf die durch Tartini und Locatelli gepragte italienische Violinkunst zuruck. In seiner Darstellung wird auch das direkte Umfeld von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts musikasthetischer Unterweisung erkennbar. wohl erstmals 1813 durch eine Notenausgabe des Musikverlags Hofmeister. In der ,,Kinder-Symphonie kommen neben der ublichen Orchesterbesetzung ein Kuckuck eine Wachtel und noch andere ungewohnliche Instrumente zum Einsatz. Diese gehoren zu den ,,Berchtesgadener Instrumenten aus Holz geschnitzte Floten Pfeifen und Rasseln die im Berchtesgadener Land hergestellt wurden und als Kinderspielzeug im ganzen Land weit verbreitet waren. Heute konnen diese Instrumente auch durch Floten (Wasser-)Pfeifchen sowie durch Ratschen Rasseln oder Schellenbaum ersetzt werden.
