Score-Paul Creston's Liberty Song '76 for Band.Liberty Song '76 is based on three principle songs of the Revolutionary period: 'The Liberty Song ' the first American patriotic ballad written by John Dickinson to the tune of 'Hearts of Oak'by William Boyce; 'Enraptured I gaze' by Francis Hopkinson the earliest American composer of secular music and a signer of the Declaration of Independance; and theubiquitous 'Yankee Doodle ' the only true tune which Ulysses S. Grant could identify ('I only know two tunes' Grant said 'one is Yankee Doodle and the other isn't').The eleven-measure introduction presents the threethemes in fragmentary suggestion and affirms the emotional basis of the piece. Each tune is first presented in its original form and then harmonised and developed in 1976 style. 'Yankee Doodle' is in the unorthodox fugal style and the concluding measures of the fugue combines all three tunes is a quasi-stretto.Liberty Song '76 was commissioned by Ithaca College for the Walter Beeler Series memorialising his many contributions tothe Band World. The first performance of the work was by the Ithaca College Band conducted by the composer on February 9 1976.

Impressivetrumpet solos drinking songs and dance scenes werethe ingredients that enthralled audiences throughoutEurope. Today only the farewell song called JungWerner?s Abschied also known as Behüt? dich Gott has remained an absolute winner. Wil van der Beekhas written a fine arrangement of this entitledFarewell Song. He felt itwas appropriate to entrustthe melody of this song originally written for tenorvoice to the baritone or euphonium.

for Concert Band-Italian Wedding Song is a lyrical very romantic song in G minor reminiscent in some ways of the music of Puccini and Verdi. Like Barnes' Yorkshire Ballad it is a brief solemn work perfect for teaching students to play in an emotional legato style. If you have a good Euphonium player this work is a must; it is an excellent choice for a moment of touching repose on your next concert. Italian Wedding Song is carefully scored and cross-cued and the ranges are very reasonable for all instruments.

Dagmar Kildevann arranged eight word famous folk songs in very different ways. From traditional (Lolo mi boto) to modern (Le coq est mort) and from swing (Sur le pont) to rock (Michael row the boat). The Ketchup Song-The Ketchup Song was a big 2002 summer hit for the Munoz sisters. The band is made up of three sisters Lol Lucia and Pilar who are the daughters of a famous Spanish flamenco musician called Tomate (hence Ketchup!). This fabulous arrangement will bring a taste of summer on the Costa to any concert.
