Sacred vocal music, Praise and thanks. Set of Orchestra Parts. Composed 1886. 4 pages. Duration 21 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 23.326/09. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2332609). ISBN 9790007198787. Key: G major. Language: Latin. Following its edition of the beautiful Messe Sainte Cecile by Gounod in an arrangement for Coro SA and organ (CV 27.025), Carus presents a further sacred work by this composer: his Te Deum for soli, choir, two harps and two organs (choir organ and great organ). As Peter Kaiser, the editor, has expressed in his foreword, this work from 1886 realizes a strict, almost ascetic musical language, an inward awe and praise of God.. Edited by Marc Rigaudiere. French Sacred Music. Requiem. Fassung 1889 Fur Kleines Orchest. Sacred vocal music, Requiem. Single Part, Organ. Composed 1901. 20 pages. Duration 35 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 27.311/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2731149). ISBN 9790007201593. Language: Latin. The Requiem of Gabriel Faure is now available in two versions: in the symphonic version which was completed in 1900 and in a version with small orchestra of 1889. The symphonic version of Gabriel Faure's Requiem, published in 1901, was the product of a 13-year compositional process. Starting from the original five-movement form for strings, harp and organ, the composer wrote two additional movements, one after the other, and expanded the instrumentation in various stages for later performances. The present reconstruction of a version with small orchestra differs from other such attempts in that for the first time it presents the work not in a mixed version, but rather in the unified form from 1889. This is distinguished from the final version both in musical terms, as well as through the fact that it forgoes the use of flutes, clarinets and bassoons, while employing only two horns instead of four. With a critical Report with information about the source situation and the edition, and containing the individual readings (alternative readings, etc.). Since in 1889 the Offertoire was still without the choral section the present edition contains the Offertoire of the final version as appendix. Now available in carus music, the choir app. Score and part available separately - see item CA.2731100. $17.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Used as a place of worship for centuries, first by Christians and then by Muslims (from 1453), the Hagia Sophia (Istanbul) still amazes people from all over the world. Since 1934, it is a museum but more than that, the Hagia Sophia, a unique architectural work of monumental proportions in Christian Antiquity and the Middle Ages, is described as a mystical place. Monumental, yet mysterious, a 'miracle of space', a symbol, a sign. 'Sophia', the holy wisdom, accompanies us through the whole Bible history. The line and sound of Hagia Sophia are based on a symmetrical eight-note row (mode B) with the notes B, C sharp, D, E/F, G, A flat (G sharp), B flat (A sharp). Although the major-minor relations are removed, harmonic connections (colours) emerge nevertheless. $33.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 24 hours - In Stock

Sacred vocal music, Requiem, End of the church year, Mourning, death. Single Part, Organ. CG op. Posth. 4 pages. Duration 35 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 27.315/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2731549). ISBN 9790007201746. Key: C major. Language: Latin. Charles Gounod composed this Requiem under the impact of the death of his four-year-old grandson, Maurice. According to information handed down, while finishing the details of this work he was overtaken by death. It was published posthumously in various constellations by his pupil, Henri Busser, but the only complete version from the pen of Gounod is the version for large orchestra, which is published here for the first time in a critical edition. Gounod's Requiem, unlike many contemporary settings of the Mass of the Dead, is not characterized by darkness and terror. Rather, with all of its trepidation - expressed through a marked chromaticism - an atmosphere of hopeful expectation, of trust in the grace and equity of the divine judge predominates. This confidence finds its expression in the choice of the fundamental key of C major, which is rather unusual for a requiem. The work was given an impressive performance on the occasion of the first anniversary of Gounod's death in the Parisian church of Sainte-Madeleine under the direction of Gabriel Fauré and it was highly acclaimed by the contemporary press. Organ SKU: HL.48180238 For Organ. Composed by Marcel Dupre. Leduc. Post-1900. Softcover. 8 pages. Alphonse Leduc #AL16850. Published by Alphonse Leduc (HL.48180238). UPC: 888680794699. 9x12 inches. This version of Cortege and Litanie by Marcel Dupré was written for organ. For upper intermediate players, this 8 page composition is written with 4 sharps and includes the use of the pedals. The piece, initially written for a small orchestra in 1922, was created for a play. Dupré integrated it into one of his piano recitals and was later asked to arrange it for other instruments. These scores therefore exist also arranged for piano, orchestra (in 4 and 16) and for the conductor. In terms of composition, the piece is divided into two: “Cortege,” which title describes a solemn procession, begins in E major and lasts twice as long as the introductory theme; and “Litanie,” which is describing the prayer sung during a procession and which follows the “Cortege” part to then be joined by it. Marcel Dupré is a French composer and virtuoso organist who won the Prix de Rome in 1914. He became famous when he played the work of Bach in its totality from memory in 1920. He later became the professor of many renowned students at the Paris Conservatoire such as Messiaen, Langlais and Cochereau among others. $20.55 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 24 hours - In Stock

Edited by Barbara Grossmann. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Urtext Editions; French Sacred Music. Requiem (Gounods Letztes Werk). Sacred vocal music, Requiem, End of the church year, Mourning, death. Single Part, Double Bass. CG op. Posth. 8 pages. Duration 35 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 27.315/15. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2731515). ISBN 9790007201739. Score and part available separately - see item CA.2731500. $6.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
