A wonderful collection of Traditional Christmas Carols in a jazz style for Tuba and Piano arranged by British arranger and Trumpeter, Keith Terrett. The Carols included are: Ding Dong Merrily On High, Silent Night, We Three Kings, Away in a Manger, Joy to the World, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Deck the Halls & Good King Wenceslas. The Tuba part is all written out with jazz inflections and articulation included. The Piano part is all written out, but also includes the jazz chords for players who wish to comp. These Carols are playable by moderately advanced performers and are perfect for parties, church services, busking & recitals. Range is very moderate, nothing high at all.

Johann Wanhal (Vanhal) was an important classical composer from Bohemian/Czech heritage (1739-1813). His main living was as an organist and choirmaster, however Wanhal's musical output as a composer includes over a dozen concerti, many symphonies, chamber music, operas and much sacred music including 58 masses.
Wanhal is rumored to have played chamber music with Mozart, Haydn and Dittersdorf, with Wanhal on the cello.
In the 1770's Wanhal met the contrabassist Johannes Matthias Sperger and wrote a double bass concerto for him. The Concerto is in the key of E-Flat (original key of D for the double bass) in three movements and has been expertly arranged for Tuba and Piano by Ms. Janet Yarbrough of Duke University.
This work is available for solo Tuba with Wind Ensemble.

Little Fiesta is a fun, catchy, and short piece for solo tuba and piano accompaniment. It consists of a polka-tango, a trio, and a recapitulation of the initial polka-tango theme. Within the trio, there is a beautiful melody which utilizes alternating fast and slow tempos, making this an excellent piece for beginner-intermediate student study and recital performance.
