As a composer he worked for nearly all theatre companies in Flanders and he wrote over a 100 different theatre plays, amongst which the complete oeuvre of Molière and Shakespeare. He was also the musical director for all Brecht plays for KNS theatre in Antwerp, where he worked as the home composer for 10 years. He than became the musical coordinator for the Royal Ballet of Flanders and he wrote several ballet compositions for symphony orchestra. He has his own close-harmony and jazz trio, and he works freelance as a composer and as artistic director in several musical productions. From Easy Dances Clarinet and piano Arranger: Haan, Stefan de The Dance Suite for clarinet and piano is an arrangement of selected pieces from Mátyás Seiber's Easy Dances, originally composed as piano pieces on the popular dance-styles of the 1920s and 30s and focusing particularly on the rhythmic characteristics of each. Seiber's life and work linked and developed many diverse musical influences, from the Hungarian tradition of Bartók and Kodály, to Schönberg and serial music, to jazz, folksong, film and lighter music (rewarded by an Ivor Novello Prize for By The Fountains of Rome). Par MILHAUD DARIUS. Duo Concertante, Op. 351 by Darius Milhaud was composed in 1956 for the Paris Conservatoire Contest. Many influences can be recognised in this piece: from the Provence where he was born, to Jazz and other melodies of South America. Lasting approximately 7 minutes, Duo Concertante, Op. 351 is started by a fanfare with a strong energy reminiscent of the South of France, followed by a simple and moderate Clarinet partly joined by Piano chords. The initial theme is then repeated one last time for the finale. Darius Milhaud (1892-1974) was a French modernist composer and a teacher.
