In The Lowlands is a delightful pastoral suite for Tuba with Piano accompaniment by Alan Richardson. The solo Tuba part is also included on a separate insert. ABRSM Tuba Syllabus Grade 6.

This work is dedicated to John Fletcher who gave the first performance on 24 April 1976. The concerto is in three movements the first in sonata-form shell with two contrasting themes. Composed by Roger Boutry Tubaroque is a melodious piece of baroque music for Tuba Bb Bass Saxhorn or Bass Trombone with Piano accompaniment. Quite difficult it would be perfect for advanced players and would work well in a concert. Starting with a small introduction in three measures the first part of the piece begins on a 'Slow Waltz movement' which consists of a main theme with two variations including one played an octave lower. The second part 'Allegretto' is more lyrical and the last one 'Moderato/Allegro' starts like a march to then go back to a more melodious finale. Roger Boutry is a Frenchmusician and contemporary composer who received eight First Prizes at the Conservatoire including composition conducting and Piano. He also won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1954 and some prizes by the SACEM and by the city of Paris. He also got involved as a professor of Harmony and director of Orchestras.

Concertino by Eugène Bozza is a piece for C Tuba or Bb Saxhorn and Piano. Written in two parts this work lasts 17 minutes and is very difficult to execute as a strong endurance and a high level of skill and technique is required. The whole score is in F key with some accidental alterations. Very interesting in term of melody and sonority this piece definitely shows the full Tuba range at its best and is perfect for contests and recitals. Eugène Bozza won different prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris such as the First Prize for the Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome.He composed several operas chamber works and ballets among others.

for Tuba and String Orchestra-American composer Arthur Frackenpohl (b. 1924) has written a significant amount of successful repertoire for the brass family. Concertino for Tuba and Piano reduction is no exception. Frackenpohl has won multiple awards for his compositions. Published in 1967 Concertino for Tuba added a significant work to the repertoire of an instrument which lacks in substantial solo compositions. Comprising three movements the first movement of Concertino is marked moderato followed by a lento second movement. The final movement is allegro. All three movements display fine aspects of the Tuba which areoften ignored. Suitable for intermediate Tuba players Frackenpohl's Concertino for the instrument is an exciting addition to the instrument's repertoire.

This is a Piano reduction of Danish avant garde composer Ole Schmidt's terrific 1975 work for Tuba and Orchestra. It is dedicated to Michael Lind and is a bustling and expressive work full of drama accentuated and emphasised by the deep tones of the Tuba.

Le premier mouvement débute lentement puis s?accélère progressivement. La cadence annonce la réexposition du matériel thématique initial. Le second mouvement écrit en forme de scherzo semble plus résolu mais chemine vers plus de légèreté.
