UPC: 680160921140. Key: E lydian. English. The Vastness of the Universe Jonas Hallgrimsson (1807-1845). About Jónas HalgrÃmsson (1807-1845) was an Icelandic poet, author and naturalist, who is considered one of Iceland's most renowned poets. Considered a Romantic writer, the strong imagery in his poetry was influenced heavily by the landscapes around him.The imagery, excitement, and curiosity of the universe leapt off the page and the music almost wrote itself. Reflecting on the cosmos and origin of the heavens, the poetry elicits excitement and stirs spatial imagery - ...speeding spark of light, ...wings swifter than wind..., ...I watched the stars...rise from the still stream of heaven... The pure and almost child-like fascination with the universe and its expansion and progression fuels the perpetual rhythm of the work as it continually pushes forward.A good friend asked if I would write a song for her ensemble. The original voicing, for SAB choir, contained parameters in that it had to be three-part with a limited range in the Bass part. With these stipulations I began to write. I searched for something that would be exciting for them and landed on Jonas Halgrimsson’s writings. I believe it is equally as exciting, accessible and challenging for tenor-bass choirs. Director’s NoteTruly consider how the work can come to ‘life’ off the page. Rise and fall with phrase and sometimes each note. The magic exists beyond the ink on the page!Consideration to range, tessitura, and content was all considered as part of this process in creating music that is accessible to all programs and ensembles.Accompaniment NoteThe accompaniment can look intimidating, but please feel free to alter the pulsing eighth notes in the left hand with the eighth notes in the right-hand so it creates a compound rhythm. So long as the momentum of the work is pressed onward, you are doing this work justice. Choral Hand Clap, Hand Drum, Violin, alto 1, alto 2, soprano 1, soprano 2 SKU...(+)
Choral Hand Clap, Hand Drum, Violin, alto 1, alto 2, soprano 1, soprano 2 SKU: CF.CM9563 Great and Fiery Force. Composed by Michael John Trotta. Hidegard Von Bingen transcribed by Michael John Trotta. Mjts. With Standard notation. 24 pages. Duration 4 minutes, 41 seconds. Carl Fischer Music #CM9563. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.CM9563). ISBN 9781491153635. UPC: 680160911134. 6.75 x 10.5 inches. Key: G minor. Latin, English. Hidegard Von Bingen transcribed by Michael John Trotta. Trotta's composition is an energetic reimagining of timeless text and tune from the 12th century poet, composer, and philosopher Hildegard of Bingen. The marriage of the chant Caritas Abundat with a text taken from Liber Divinorum Operum (The Book of Divine Works) creates an entirely new work that expresses themes of empowerment. There is a reflective sense of the empowerment that comes from singing in a choir, especially the power of belonging to a group united for a purpose greater than oneself. This commissioned work for womens choir is an energetic reimagining of a timeless text and tune from the twelfth-century poet, composer and philosopher Hildegard of Bingen. The text was selected as a reflection of the students' desire to express the empowerment that comes from singing in a choir, especially the power of belonging to a group united for a purpose greater than oneself. This piece marries the chant Caritas Abundat with a text taken from Liber Divinorum Operum (The Book of Divine Works), creating an entirely new work that expresses themes of empowerment. An adapted quotation of the tune is introduced in the violin, then taken up by the choir, treated to a five-part canon in the more reflective middle section, and finally changes meter for an energetic finish. I am the great and fiery force, That breathes life into all things: I am what awakens and supports life And enkindles all living things I am the great and fiery force, That breathes life into all things: Everything in the cosmos Is encircled with my wisdom. I am the beauty in the fields, The force, that moves like a graceful wind I shine in the waters, and burn in the sun, Glimmering in the stars. Caritas abundat in omnia (Grace abounds for everyone) [Liber Divinorum Operum (The Book of Divine Works), I.I.2]. An adapted quotation of the tune is introduced in the violin, then taken up by the choir, treated to a five-part canon in the more reflective middle section, and finally changes meter for an energetic finish.I am the great and fiery force,That breathes life into all things:I am what awakens and supports lifeAnd enkindles all living thingsI am the great and fiery force,That breathes life into all things:Everything in the cosmosIs encircled with my wisdom.I am the beauty in the fields,The force, that moves like a graceful windI shine in the waters, and burn in the sun,Glimmering in the stars.Caritas abundat in omnia (Grace abounds for everyone)[Liber Divinorum Operum (The Book of Divine Works), I.I.2]. $3.50 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 24 hours - In Stock | | |

Choral SAB choir, piano SKU: CF.CM9730 Composed by Andrew Steffen. 16 pages. Duration 2 minutes, 48 seconds. Carl Fischer Music #CM9730. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.CM9730). ISBN 9781491161098. UPC: 680160919697. Key: E lydian. English. The Vastness of the Universe Jonas Hallgrimsson (1807-1845). About Jonas Halgrimsson (1807-1845) was an Icelandic poet, author and naturalist, who is considered one of Iceland's most renowned poets. Considered a Romantic writer, the strong imagery in his poetry was influenced heavily by the landscapes around him. The imagery, excitement, and curiosity of the universe leapt off the page and the music almost wrote itself. Reflecting on the cosmos and origin of the heavens, the poetry illicits excitement and stirs spatial imagery - ...speeding spark of light, ...wings swifter than wind..., ...I watched the stars...rise from the still stream of heaven.... The pure and almost child-like fascination with the universe and its expansion and progression fuels the perpetual rhythm of the work as it continually pushes forward. https://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/Jonas/Alheim/Alheim.html A good friend asked if I would write a song for her ensemble. The parameters were that it had to be three-part with a limited range in the Bass part. With these stipulations I began to write. I searched for something that would be exciting for them and landed on Jonas Halgrimsson's writings. There is such a need for three-part music that is both exciting, accessible, and challenging. Director's Note Truly consider how the work can come to 'life' off the page. Rise and fall with phrase and sometimes each note. The magic exists beyond the ink on the page! Consideration to range, tessitura, and content was all considered as part of this process in creating music that is accessible to all programs and ensembles Accompaniment Note The accompaniment can look intimidating, but please feel free to alter the pulsing eighth notes in the left hand with the eighth notes in the right-hand so it creates a compound rhythm. So long as the momentum of the work is pressed onward, you are doing this work justice. | Trio For Violin, Cello And Piano Score And Parts Cello, Piano Schott
Violin, cello and piano SKU: HL.49044398 For violin, violoncello and p...(+)
Violin, cello and piano SKU: HL.49044398 For violin, violoncello and piano. Composed by Toshio Hosokawa. Sheet music. Ensemble. Softcover. Composed 2013. Duration 11'. Schott Music #SJ10048. Published by Schott Music (HL.49044398). This piece is concerned with the world of shaman, which I have been very interested in lately. A shaman is a person who creates a path connecting this world and the underworld. In this trio, the violin represents female, and the cello male. The instruments sing a duo as an extension of the voices of two shamans. The piano is the cosmos and the nature. Violin and piano have a 'Yin and Yang' relationship, the creation principal of the Taoism cosmos: polar opposites which compliment one another without cancelling each other out, creating perfect harmony.
