When they were issued by the publisher Simrock the following year, these three self-contained orchestral pieces in D major, G minor and A-flat major were gathered together into a single opus. The 'Slavonic Rhapsodies' are now available in separate scholarly-critical editions and editor Robert Simon has taken the original print as the principal source, which was authorised by the composer. Symphonie de Dvorák 7 a été commandé par le ' Royal Philharmonic Society ' en Août 1883 et a reCu sa première le 22 Avril 1885 à Londres dirigé par le compositeur lui-même. Le Juin suivant le deuxième mouvement a été raccourci par quelque 40 barres et le travail a été publié sous cette forme en 1885 par Simrock .L'éditeur de cette nouvelle édition savante critique est Jonathan Del Mar qui a acquis une réputation internationale pour son édition du concerto pour violoncelle de Dvorák en si mineur (BA 9045 ) , sans parler de ses éditions des oeuvres de Beethoven et Elgar . Del Mar a tiré sur toutes les sources disponibles, y compris des lettres .
