Edition for piano two violins viola and violoncello-Edition for piano two violins viola and violoncello (2-piano reduction with 1 each of the string parts) 'Mr. Mozart Kapellmeister wishes to announce to the most worthy public the appearance in print of three of his recently contrived piano concertos. These three concertos may be performed not only with a large orchestra including wind instruments but also a quattro that is with two violins one viola and violoncello. They will be issued early in April of this year (1783).' As this advertisement shows it was Mozart's intention to keep the accompaniment part flexible in his piano concertos K.413-5 and as we know from a letter Mozart wrote to his father inK.449 as well. In addition to orchestral forces it is also possible to use a chamber setting with string instruments one to a part. This chamber music edition accommodates this option thereby enriching Mozart's charming chamber music with piano. These editions of Mozart's Piano Concertos are based on the Urtext editions published in the New Mozart Edition. In the present arrangement for two pianos the solo Part - as well as the strings - are unchanged and thus identical with the version in the NMA. The piano arrangement adheres to the original orchestral score. for string quartet. Par VASKS PETERIS. In 2013, Peteris Vasks set Mother Teresa’s peace prayer “The fruit of silence is prayer” for the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The piece is for mixed choir however the versions for piano quintet and string quartet now make this musical expression of Mother Teresa's words accessible to two traditional genres of chamber music without the help of a choir. / Niveau : Intermédiaire / Répertoire / 2 Violons, Alto, Violoncelle et Piano

This work composed in 1878/79 alternates between chamber music intimacy and symphonic opulence and marks the beginning of a series of significant late works by César Franck. Its composition was partly prompted by the successfulperformance of Franck?s youthful piano trios at the ?Société nationale de musique? (founded in 1871) and probably also by a composition competition for works using this instrumental combination whose deadline Franck then went onto miss. The Quintet was received coolly at its first performance in January 1880 and it was performed just a few more times during the composer?s lifetime. It was only in the 20th century that audiences and critics came torecognise this work as a major milestone in the history of French chamber music and it now adorns the Henle catalogue in a new Urtext edition.
