A popular aria for Soprano from Handel's celebrated Messiah , edited by Watkins Shaw. This particular edition is presented in 12/8 time, rather than the more familiar 4/4 version, but with the Continuo line provided in the original simple time. The piece features the intimate arrangement of two Violins and Continuo with the Soprano soloist, and the music is brimming with Handel's delightful imitative melodic writing, creating an energetic dialogue between the soloist and the strings. / Scores
