S?exercer dans ces domaines n?est pas chose aisée pour un orchestre et il existe peu de matériel qui soit également agréable à jouer.« Four Original Warm-Ups » est donc avant tout destiné à remédier à ce manque sous forme de quatre morceaux d?entraînement agréables. Chaque morceau traite d?un des éléments mentionnés ci-dessus sans que la musique n?en devienne pour autant ennuyeuse.3e partie : ArticulationTrainToutes les facettes de l?articulation sont mises en lumière au cours de ce trajet en train. L?accélération progressive suggère non seulement le train qui roule de plus en plus vite mais permet également de s?exercer au jeu en staccato. Avant le concert vous pouvez éventuellement déguiser un enfant ou un musicien en mécanicien et le faire siffler pour faire partir le train. Solemnitas. This short but solemn overture was written on the occasion of the 110th jubilee of Harmonie Hautcharage, Luxembourg. It is an homage to Jean-Paul Frisch and his son Gérard (the present conductor), who each have been conducting the ensemble for many years. Under their leadership, the band has developed and improved remarkably. The very first musical theme, presented during the introduction of this little overture, is based on the letters hidden in the names Jean-Paul and Gérard Frisch (in which h is considered b ? as it is in German), thus aiming the spotlight on both key figures in the history of Harmonie Hautcharage. After the rather stately intro, the allegro is more joyful and lighthearted, thus depicting the optimism of the many young players of the band. The end is exciting and energetic: it radiates positivity and belief in the future.

Cowboy Songs Of The Great American West. Par HANNICKEL MIKE. STAMPEDE!!! takes us back to an old American West of longhorn cattle-drives, chuck wagons, campfires and trail songs. Based on several authentic cowboy songs, STAMPEDE!!! opens at dawn (birdcalls included) with the “Cowboy’s Gettin’ Up Holler”. Lively fiddle and harmonica motifs and an eloquent scoring of “Good-bye, Old Paint” are just part of this contribution to Grade 3 concert band literature by Mike Hannickel. “The Chisholm Trail” (a true cowboy classic) figures importantly at the beginning and, in a driving re-harmonization, leads to the thrilling conclusion. / Niveau : 3 / Musique légère originale / Répertoire / Concert Band
