Reduced Version-The Full Score of Eventide the epic composition inspired by the story of Edith Cavell compiled from texts relating to her imprisonment composed by the great Patrick Hawes. This is the reduced version scored for Soprano SATB Chorus Unison Semi-Chorus Trumpet Harp Organ and Strings. This work is dedicated to Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society and Gresham's Holt who first performed this work in Norwich Cathedral on the 12th of July 2014 to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.  Lasting around 45 minutes this large-scale work has the subtitle 'In Memoriam Edith Cavell' who is commemorated here as a nurse to German and British wounded who went on to provide refuge to escaped and lost British soldiers who were enabled by her to return to England. As a result of this she was arrested for 'treason' and condemned to death. While in prison her only possessions were her Bible her Book of Common Prayer and a copy of the Imitation of Christ. The libretto as compiled by Andrew Hawes is made up of extracts from these books as well as other materials relating to her final days.  This tribute to a brave and courageous life is fitting for a composition commemorating the First World War. The tragedy and pathos surrounding Cavell's life is hard for us to understand but by placing words so personal to her in the context of a piece of beautiful music it forces us to think and remember while also condemning the actions of so many figures of authority on an innocent and pious nurse during that horrific period.

Song Of Songs was first written in 2009 and arranged for chamber ensemble in 2010. The lyrics were by Andrew Hawes and the chamber version was scored for solo Soprano SATB chorus String Quintet and Harp. It is written in six movements each inspired by a section of text from the Old Testament Book of the same name.Patrick Hawes (b. 1958) is a contemporary British composer. He has been building a reputation as one of the foremost composers working in the UK today a position which was cemented when he was appointed as Classic FM’s Composer in Residence for 2006-2007.

Two dances for flute and harp from Peter Maxwell Davies' ballet Caroline Mathilde.A new instrumentation restores this linked pair of dances from Davies's second full-length ballet Caroline Mathilde based on the story ofthe eighteenth-century British princess sent in marriage to Denmark to the eighteenth-century milieu of the work's setting and musical world. The period manners - a gavotte in the first dance a gigue at the start of the second -are typically overlaid with the composer's Scottishness. In general the harp has an accompanying role but it comes forward alone in the second movement which ends with bravura from both instruments.These two dances were firstperformed in September 1993 at the Northlands Festival by David Nicholson and Eluned Pierce.Score and flute part. This is the Full Score for composer Patrick Hawes' beautiful work The Angel Of Mons featuring all six movements. This work is arranged for solo Soprano SATB Chorus Harp and Strings and was composed in memory of the British soldiers who supposedly witnessed an apparition of an angel during World War I. The premiere of The Angel Of Mons was on 23rd August 2014 in St Michael and All Angels Church Edenham Lincolnshire and conducted by Patrick Hawes himself on the exact centenary of the apparition of the angel. The inspiration comes from a mythical story around the Battle of Monsduring World War One where a group of soldiers supposedly received divine help from 'angels'. The story arose from a fictional short story by a writer that came to be known as fact despite the author's desperate pleas otherwise. The work lasts approximately 25 minutes and therefore would make for a hugely enjoyable concert especially a World War I memorial concert.  The Vocal Score can also be purchased separately  here.

It is a setting of a poem by George Herbert and a petition to the various forms of the Trinity to permeate all our lives. The original version for solo soprano and SATB choir appeared on Patrickâ??s debut album Blue in Blue. It was subsequently recorded by Hayley Westenra for her Number-One-selling album Odyssey and in 2014 by Voces8 choir to produce a version for them which featured on their Number-One-selling album Eventide. Arranged here for pedal harp from the piano version by Elinor Evans the music reflects the heartfelt longing for the joys of heaven a happiness to be shared in a future moment of meeting expressed in the words.

Arranged for Harp-This Wedding March was composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1842 as a part of his suite for Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is most commonly played as a wedding recessional.This sheet music includes two Harp arrangements. The first is for intermediate to advanced lever Harp players or pedal harpists. The second is a bit easier. It can be played on small Harps with 22 or more strings from C to C.
