J'ai moi-même été étonné quand, il ya un ou deux ans à la Villa Massimo , j'étais pas vraiment ennuyé mais perturbé par la forte cri rythmique des mouettes. j'étais sur le point d'écrire un solo de basson quand les mouettes ont commencé .Puis l'idée m'est venue que c'est précisément cette séquence de notes pourrait servir de base de travail . Et la séquence pour le solo de basson est , à son tour, la base de la pièce pour violoncelle - c'est ainsi que les titres sont nés ... Bien sûr, le violoncelle serpente avec facilité virtuose du motif mouette au ' elf -like ' skittering mis en musique par Mendelssohn et utilisé maintes et maintes fois dans ses compositions , devenant finalement un cabaletta . Encouragé par le succès de sa version de Schubert Arpeggione Sonata enregistrées sur CD avec le soliste, David Geringas, Heribert Breuer présente aujourd'hui un autre arrangement pour l'instrumentation même, à savoir le violoncelle Sonate #1 opus 38 de Johannes Brahms. En raison de sa texture distinctement polyphonique, cette composition qui, à l'égard du thème, retombe sur l'Art de Fugue de Bach, dans les mouvements externes semblait idéale pour attiser sur la partie de piano au spectre sonore des six instruments plutôt variables.
