Danzas del infierno est la bande originale dun film imaginaire. Les images ne sont pas concrètes mais formées dans les imaginations successives du compositeur du chef dorchestre du musicien et enfin de lauditeur.Le scénario pourrait se dérouler comme suit :The devils dance hallAprès une vie agréable mais marquée par le péché les âmes dAlbert et Englebert descendent jusquaux tréfonds obscurs de lenfer. Derrière eux dans le lointain résonnent encore les échos de lamentations terrestres. Au sol et dans lair évolue une vermine venimeuse et gluante.Lorsque soudain sallume une lumière aveuglante ils se trouvent parmi des millions de compagnons dinfortune dans une gigantesquesalle de bal avec 6 immenses piliers et 6 énormes lustres. 6 laquais annoncent solennellement le diable (leitmotiv) et soudain apparaît sa grande silhouette : Lucifrina ! Une robe de soirée noire profondément décolletée dans le dos. La fente de la robe sur son interminable jambe gauche laisse deviner des jarretelles rouge sang. Elle regarde Albert droit dans les yeux et linvite à ouvrir le bal avec elle.The devils tangoCest par le biais du tango que nous faisons la connaissance de la personnalité double de la diablesse. Séduisante et sophistiquée à lextérieur et fondamentalement mauvaise et rusée à lintérieur. La danse commence de façon très subtile les motifs thématiques de fugue servant de métaphore pour son jeu de jambes virtuose. Mais très vite elle emmène le pauvre Albert aux quatre coins de la piste jusquà ce que ce dernier sécroule épuisé.IntermezzoCherchant un nouveau cavalier Lucifrina se fraie un chemin parmi ses pupilles fraîchement arrivés. Englebert fait tout pour éviter de se faire remarquer mais il néchappe pas à son attention.The devils waltzDès les premières mesures de la valse cest la grande sauvagerie. Les forces centrifuges font complètement perdre pied à Englebert qui ne touche presque plus le sol. Sous la violence de sa partenaire trop grande et trop forte il se fait piétiner à tel point que les autres résidents de lenfer

Grand Nordic Tune. Par OLSEN VADSTEN OYSTEIN. 'Storslått' or in English ?Grand Nordic Tune? is one of many original pieces written by composer Øystein Olsen Vadsten. 'Slått' is a general term for music played to traditional Norwegian dances. ?Grand Nordic Tune? was a commissioned work for the Rælingen Musikklag's 70-year anniversary concert in 2022, where the piece was premiered. They wanted something a little pompous, and preferably something in the style of Nordic folk music, which the composer is known for. The title in Norwegian then was obvious, 'Storslått', which in Norwegian has a double meaning, both a big tune and, in a double meaning, pompous or magnificent. As usual, the starting point is a traditional Nordic dance form, and this time the choice fell on the distinctive Swedish 'polska', which is played in ¾. The dance, despite its name, reportedly has no connection to Poland, but is entirely of Scandinavian origin. It has been danced for centuries, and has also been called the devil's dance, because it had a hypnotizing effect on people, so that they could not stop, but danced themselves to death. Hence people thought that it must have been the devil who caused it. Based on the Battle Hymn of the Republic-It has been difficult to find mature sounding arrangements of patriotic music for the Grade 1 band. The stately tempo and carefully controlled ranges and rhythms in this one makes James Curnow's skillful interpretation of TheBattle Hymn of the Republic accessible to young bands while sounding sophisticated enough for groups that normally play more difficult music.
