Violin Concerto In G major is considered to be the earliest of Joseph Haydn?s Violin concertos and was apparently written before he was taken into the service of the Esterházy family. It was firstpublished a century after the Austrian composer?s death in 1909 and was little known before. Wieniawkski's Dudziarz (The Bag-pipe Player) is a characteristic mazurka for violin and piano. This is a spirited violin miniature with a simple piano accompaniment against a more intricate melody line. The solo violin part is also included on a separate insert.
