Rameau's 'Les Fêtes de l'Hymen et de l'Amour? was long considered second-rate because its première was associated with a political event. Yet this ballet abounds in novel dramaturgical effects that foreshadow his later operas, such as 'Zaïs?, 'Zoroastre? and 'Les Boréades?. Working together with his librettist Cahusac, Rameau sought to weave the dance numbers, choruses and stage machinery more tightly into the main plot. He also experimented with stylistic devices unique to this work, the most famous being unquestionably the scene in which the Nile overflows its banks (an impressive ten-voice double chorus with solo voices and orchestra) and the sextet from 'Aruéris?, a scoring found nowhere else in his oeuvre.For the first time, this scholarly-critical edition of 'Les Fêtes de l'Hymen et de l'Amour? presents a reference version of the work that is based on all the major sources for both the libretto and the music, including two recent musical discoveries. German composer Carl Maria Von Weber was the quintessential romantic turning his hand to many art forms including poetry composing as well as virtuosic playing. This is typified by his 1811 Concerto No.1 for Clarinet and Orchestra in F Minor and demonstrates his understanding of the instruments of the orchestra particularly the Clarinet. It is more serious and less playful than his earlier concertino but dramatic and with expressive passages creating a superb showpiece. POD- Fanfare Für Die Verwandlung for Orchestra by Britta Byström. Commissioned by the Royal Swedish Opera in 2016.

According to his dating of the autograph Haydn composed the Symphony no. 89 in F major in 1787 just one year after the six so-called Paris symphonies. It was written together with its sister work the G-major Symphony no. 88 for the violinist Johann Tost who sold it to the Parisian publisher Sieber. In both works Haydn continues the compositional achievements of the Paris symphonies: mastery of orchestration richness of musical ideas and details and an idiosyncratic multicoloured use of the wind section (which still makes do without Clarinets). In contrast to the buoyant G-major symphony the F-major symphony possesses a ratherpastoral sweet character which in parts can nevertheless soar to dramatic heights. This study edition reproduces the musical text of the Haydn Complete Edition which is a guarantor of the finest scholarship. An informative preface and a brief critical report make this handy score an ideal companion for all Haydn fans both present and future.

Violino piccolo pitch notation - notated the way it sounds-Violin solo part sounds at pitch (F major).Includes original version of the Sinfonia BWV 1046a.Authoritative Urtext edition of Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.1 in F major BWV 1046.The six Brandenburg Concertos BWV 1046-1051 prized jewels of the world's musical heritage were written in 1721 during Bach’s appointment in Cöthen.Of the six works Bach originally wrote earlier versions of numbers 1 and 5 which differ not only with regard to articulation but also at times different tones different rhythms instrumentation and of course form.These Urtext publications [BA5201-BA 5206] taken from the New Bach Edition now give performers the possibility to play these earlier versions perhaps even along side the version known today.In the earlier version of Concerto No.1 (BWV 1046a) which according to the editor of the edition Heinrich Besseler seems to have been Bach’s favorite among the six there is no violino piccolo part to be found and the violin concerto-like 3rd movement as well as the Polonaise movement are also absent.In nearly every bar the articulation in one instrument or another differs from the later version; for example the 16th-note slurs in bars 1 and 2 of the horns are missing in the later score the oboe slurs and trills in m.12 are also not to be found. The later version has the cello seperated from the continuo which means that the 16ths in m.7 are not to be played by the Violone grosso.

Fantasia In F Minor for Strings (1799) after the Organ Piece for Mechanical Organ K.608.Despite their high quality Mozart?s works for unusual instruments or instrumental combinations often receive scant attention. One of these remarkable compositions is a piece for mechanical Organ K. 608 that he wrote for ? Müller?s Art Gallery ? in March 1791. By 1799 it had already appeared in print in Vienna as a fantasy for Piano four-hands.But there were also other transcriptions including one for two Flutes and another for String Quartet.Several sources and later editions attest to the popularity of this contemporary stringarrangement of 1799. Organ Coro I-The Missa in F of 1734 for two or four choirs is probably Pergolesi’s most important work for choir and orchestra. The nickname 'Missa Romana' was added later in reference to a performance given in Rome during Pergolesi’s lifetime.This Urtext edition presents the work for the first time in the four-choir version that Pergolesi wrote for the above mentioned performance in Rome.
