Bassoon and Piano-Sunset Song op.42 for bassoon and piano was written and premiered in 1994 at the Los Angeles Museum of Art Bing Theatre. It is the composer´s second large work featuring the bassoon as soloist (after Hexen) and like Hexen it isalso dedicated to bassoonist Judith Farmer who premiered it with the composer at the piano.Sunset Song is technically a tour de force for both the bassoon and the piano. It is happy sensuous obsessive and at times mocking - often reflecting the time in which it was written and the events of a Mexico tour that followed the firstperformance during which the piece underwent revisions. The piece starts with an introduction played by the bassoon almost entirely. This introduction uses elements of 1950s pop music. A middle section follows where a static -almost MiddleEastern- ostinato rhythmic pattern beats with increasing tension. This pattern is then transformed to a Latin beat which finally returns the piece to the opening mood. The bassoon ends the piece in an irreverent tone with a pitch written two octavesabove the official limit of the instrumentâ??s register. The title Sunset Song was inspired by Californiaâ??s sunsets and the sun setting on the Pacific Ocean.

'Les cygnes sauvages' a été commandée par le Ballet australien chorégraphié par Meryl Tankard et créée en l'Opéra de Sydney en mai 2003. Dans cette pièce, plutôt minimaliste, le personnage principal, la princesse Elisa, regarde à travers un trou dans une feuille verte et est d'imaginer des mondes éloignés.La version originale a été écrite pour soprano et orchestre.Piece mélancolique (Janvier 2004) Cette pièce n'est pas tout à fait 'vouloir' de décider s'il s'agit d'un tango ou la valse, il se déplace entre les deux. Il a une certaine sensation mélancolique de la musique Café à l'ancienne Russie.Revolving Doors (Janvier 2004) Ecrit à l'origine pour piano solo, l'idée m'est venue à New York en 2000, où j'ai rencontré plus de portes tournantes que partout ailleurs dans le monde. Il s'agit d'une pièce très courte et modeste. Elle a été organisée pour basson et piano pour Lorelei Dowling.Slicked Retour Tango (Juin 2002) Cette pièce a été écrite à l'origine pour un documentaire sur Barrie Kosky en 1996 et a été marqué pour clarinette et quatuor à cordes (cette version est encore appelée 'Kosky Tango'). Je me sentais toujours très chaleureusement sur ??ce petit morceau et écrivit une version duo peu de celui-ci, désormais intitulé 'lissés en arrière Tango'. Composed by Eugène Bourdeau  Premier Solo (1894) is a fabulous piece for Bassoon and Piano written for the Paris Conservatoire contest. This edition was edited by G. Dhérin a professor at the Paris Conservatoire. Really rich but also challenging this piece is a standard of the Bassoon repertoire and would fit the skills of upper-intermediate players. It lasts for around 5 minutes. Eugène Bourdeau (1850-1925) was a professor at the Paris Conservatoire. He composed other pieces for Bassoon such as the 'Second solo' or the '30 Exercises'.
