Par TCHAIKOVSKI PIOTR ILITCH. Tchaikovsky is best known for his purely instrumental compositions. However, we must not underestimate him as a composer of operas. Many of his operas such as ¬Pique Dame and Eugene Onegin are still performed regularly throughout the world. Eugene Onegin (also called Jevgeny Onegin), composed in 1877-1878, was not called an opera by Tchaikovsky himself, but “lyric scenes”. The work is entirely dominated by lyricism. However, there are two moments that contrast sharply with this lyricism: two ball scenes, for which Tchaikovsky wrote a waltz and a polonaise. After opening with a less well-known allegro dansant, this arrangement features the aforementioned waltz, which can beconsidered a beautiful Russian equivalent of the Faust Waltz by Charles Gounod. In the opera, this waltz is actually played by a military band. Le concerto a été créé en 2010 par l’Orchestre d’Harmonie d’Higashi-Hiroshima sous la direction d’Atsushi Kageyama avec la participation de Shinsuke Hashimoto, clarinettiste de l’Orchestre Symphonique d’Hiroshima. Cette oeuvre s’inspire du fait que Satoshi Yagisawa et Shinsuke Hashimoto sont tous deux diplômés du Conservatoire de musique de Musashino. Le Concerto pour Clarinette représente l’apogée de la série de concertos de Satoshi Yagisawa, qui comprend aussi une Suite concertante pour piano et orchestre, un Concerto pour trompette, un Concerto pour trombone, un Concertino pour saxophone et un Concertino pour percussion solo et orchestre d’harmonie . En raison de sa grande popularité, le thème émouvant du deuxième mouvement, qui est intitulé Intermezzo, est souvent interprété indépendamment. Der langsamere zweite Satz erforscht zunächst das Chalumeau-Register der Klarinette in einem Thema, das später vom Orchester aufgenommen wird, während der Solist einen filigranen Diskant entwickelt. Dieser leitet direkt zum dritten Satz über, dessen Stil an Be-Bop erinnert und die jazzigere Seite der Klarinette in den Vordergrund treten lässt.
