Composed for upper-beginners  Berceuse Op.19 is a piece for F Horn and Piano accompaniment by J. M. Damase. Quite short this piece is quite easy with a difficulty level 3°. Really nice and peaceful this piece is perfect to enjoy playing music aside from all the exercises and études necessary for beginners. The Horn begins “Andante” with a theme in seven measures accompanied by chords on the Piano. A really melodious part then features until the end of the piece when the initial themes are played again a Tempo. J. M. Damaseis a French musician and a great composer who wrotenumerous lyrical works and some chamber music. One of his most famous pieces is the Sonata for Flute and Harp.

Each of the short solos in this books progresses by introducing more notes and slightly more complicated rhythms. The book comes with an easy piano accompaniment making them ideal concert items for players who have been playing for only a short period.

Mozart’s final year was a difficult one as his employment was precarious his financial situation usually quite desperate and his wife Constanze frequently in ill health and at the spa in Baden near Vienna for treatments. On one such occasion in June of 1791 Mozart visited her and while there composed a short sacramental anthem for his friend Anton Stoll organist and choirmaster of the Baden parish church. The exquisite Ave verum corpus (K.618) was the first piece of sacred music he had written in over eight years (and the last before his unfinished Requiem) and has proven to be one of his most beloved compositions. Within six months of its writing Mozart himself hadfallen seriously ill and died in December of that year.
