Fragment-Ludwig van Beethoven wrote his Duo For Violin And Violoncello whilst he was still in Bonn perhaps in 1792 the year he departed for Vienna. It is not known whether he completed his work as only thebeginning of a fast sonata movement has survived. It is on a page in a collection of sketch leaves that is today known as the ?Kafka Miscellany?. Robert D. Levin has completed this fragment in the same style and thus for the firsttime it is in a version that can be performed.This Henle Edition contains two performance scores of the lively showpiece thus guaranteeing an optimal duo experience. A welcome addition to the repertoire.

Judith Weir's Night is a work for Violin and Cello. Commissioned by Enterprise Music Scotland Night was written for High Heels and Horse Hair - comprised of Alice Rickards (Violin) andSonia Cromarty (Cello) who gave the first performance on 3rd November 2015 at Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. Please note this item comes with two scores - one for the violinist and another for thecellist. Night was written for a late evening concert which aimed to use lighting design to explore aspects of life in the dark in three distinct but interrelated parts - NightMenagerie Night Anxiety and Late Night Radio.

Sonata for Violin and Violoncello-Following the intoxicating sounds of La Valse the smaller scoring and modern musical language of Sonata For Violin And Violoncello were a shock. Yet this pioneering work has now become a permanent fixture onthe concert stage.To help the players two performance scores are provided in which the other instrument’s part is also given. Both parts are included in a marked and an unmarked version.Sonata For Violin AndVioloncello was composed by Maurice Ravel between between 1920 and 1922.

When looking recently for a Violin and Cello duet for two talented children to play at the Inverness Music Festival Lorna McDougall came up with the idea of arranging Paganini's Caprice No.24.
