The Full Score for I Know The Music composed by Patrick Hawes former composer in residence for Classic FM. This work is arranged for Soprano Soloist SATB Chorus and Strings.   Commissioned by Aliquando Choir for the town of Henley-on-Thames and the wider community Patrick Hawes composed this for the memory of those who served their country in times of war. I Know The Music was premiered on the 8th of November 2014 in St Mary's Church in Henley-on-Thames by Aliquando Choir the Soprano Meryl Davies West Forest Sinfonia all conducted by the composer himself PatrickHawes. The piece is a setting of a Wilfred Owen poem of the same name which describes the sounds of the battlefield as musical a lament for the loss of beauty in a time of unimaginable tragedy.    Please note that you can purchase just the  Vocal Score here.

Jour férié déclaré fête nationale irlandaise la Saint-Patrick est un jour de réjouissance célébré en l?honneur du saint évêque. De nombreuses processions et parades sont organisées à cette occasion. L?Irlande s?enflamme sur des musiques variées et des danses traditionnelles tandis que des chars colorés envahissent les rues où fourmillent toutes sortes de personnages étonnants et attachants. Le trèfle est le symbole de la Saint-Patrick. De nombreuses légendes courent autour de ce saintpatron mais faute de repères historiques précis il est difficile à son sujet d?extraire la réalité du merveilleux. La Saint-Patrick est également célébrée aux États-Unis en Australie et dans toutes les communautés irlandaises du monde entier.Johan Nijs s?est inspiré de ce personnage légendaire pour composer St. Patrick Dances une œuvre pétillante et festive.

As a composer he worked for nearly all theatre companies in Flanders and he wrote over a 100 different theatre plays, amongst which the complete oeuvre of Molière and Shakespeare. He was also the musical director for all Brecht plays for KNS theatre in Antwerp, where he worked as the home composer for 10 years. He than became the musical coordinator for the Royal Ballet of Flanders and he wrote several ballet compositions for symphony orchestra. He has his own close-harmony and jazz trio, and he works freelance as a composer and as artistic director in several musical productions.
