Par SINGIER JEAN-MARC. Cette oeuvre, commande d'état pour l'ensemble vocal 'Musicatreize', est composée à partir du texte du Psaume 68/67 de la Bible. Le projet (écrire une musique sur l' 'Exsurgat Deus') a été suscité par mon ami Jean Duron (du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles) alors que nous fêtions l'anniversaire de feue Denise Launay (éminente spécialiste du compositeur Etienne Moulinié) et pour laquelle nous avions tenté d'interpréter, l' 'Exsurgat Deus' de ce même Moulinié, lors de cette amicale assemblée. Le texte est chanté en hébreu, en latin et, pour une toute petite partie, en grec. Il s'agit du 'Deus exsurgat...' dont l'incipit, seul, est ici mis en musique. Ce psaume, parmi les plus longs des psaumes dits 'historiques', raconte l'histoire d'Israël. La numérotation '68/67' renvoie à la classification qui oppose la version grecque (dite 'des septantes') à celle de la Vulgate de saint Jérôme. Les termes 'cantilène', 'organum', 'antiphonie','psalmodie' évoquent quelques-uns des moyens techniques mis en oeuvre pour la composition de ce psaume. The lyrical piece features a long introduction followed by the Soprano solo and a finale. At the end of the solo, the voices alternate between the initial tempo and some slower parts to arrive to the close and finish in harmony. Pierre Villette (1926-1998) was a French composer of choral and instrumental music. Par HERZOGENBERG HEINRICH VON. The four Sacred songs op. 89 for high voice, violin and organ were composed in 1895, when Heinrich von Herzogenberg was Professor of Composition at the Berlin Conservatory. They are dedicated to Anna Schulze, who was a colleague of Herzogenberg at the Conservatory which was headed by Joseph Joachim. Perhaps Herzogenberg’s choice of instruments for these songs was guided by his personal connection with both of his colleagues.
