The rest of the world may know the piece from films like Zulu The Corn is Green and The Englishman WhoWent Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain as well as from regimental songs.The rousing tune with its double-dotted rhythms and inspiring Choral cadence is a favourite with Welsh men’s Choruses. The words which have appeared inseveral forms concern the longest siege on British soil at the Castle of Harlech in 1468 though some insist they refer to an earlier siege during which the future King Henry V of England defeated Owen Glendower.This arrangementfor Men’s Chorus TTBB is sure to awaken patriotic fervour in Welsh audiences and appreciation in all others.
