Evening Hymn by Bob Chilcott for SAB and Piano.Chilcott has re-scored this serene reflective anthem originally for upper voices for SAB making it accessible to choirs with a limited number of male voices. A rich addition to the Choral Evensong repertory the anthem presents an artful juxtaposition of an original setting of William Fuller's 'Evening Hymn' most famously set by Henry Purcell with the plainsong melody for the Latin hymn 'Te lucis ante terminum' in J. M. Neale's English translation.

A 17th Century Traditional German hymn also known as The Echo Carol for its repeated echo-like refrain. It has been wonderfully arranged here for SAB voices by Dick Averre with a Piano part for rehearsal only.This version is in English only.

Written in Leipzig in 1840 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the invention of printing Mendelssohn's 'Hymn of Praise' is an immense work partly inspired by Beethovan's 9th (Choral) Symphony. This vocal score has been arranged for upper voices by Cilla Dennis anduses a piano accompaniment in place of the orchestra.

Hungary has a thousand-year-old tradition of reverence for the Virgin Mary. In the course of the centuries the Church has found more and more occasions for the celebration of Mary. The greatest is the celebration of Mary?s assumption into heaven which coincides with the anniversary of the death of Saint Stephen on August 15. The texts of these choral works originate from various supplicatory prayers from the office vocal texts and hymns. The six choral works don?t form a cycle since the texts are associated with different liturgies.
