The piece is light in style, as its name suggests, but requires a fairly good manual technique and neat pedalling. A three-manual instrument is needed for really effective performance (a choir clarinet is necessary for the solo middle section). This is an attractive piece to include as a contrasting item in a recital, and would certainly be a useful addition to the repertoire of wedding music. In 1739 Bach's Third Part of the Clavier Übung was published on 80 pages closely printed. Ever since then the collection has been regarded as a high point in the history of organ composition as it offers an impressive cross section of Bach's artistry.This present volume is an updated edition of Volume 4, Series IV, of the New Bach Edition, presented by Manfred Tessmer in 1969. A fully revised edition proved unnecessary, as there were relatively few corrections affecting the musical text. However, the volume now includes a detailed Preface by Christoph Wolff which discusses not only the work's genesis but also offers an up-to-date description of the sources. For the new engraving of the musical text page-turns were reviewed and improved.Bach's autograph is considered lost and so the main source is the original print of the collection from 1739. In collaboration with the Leipzig Bach Archive and its database Bach digital this new edition includes links to two important copies of the original print which contain hand-written entries by Bach himself.Any complete scholarly-critical edition of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach must, in the interest of its use by researchers and performers, incorporate intervening new discoveries wherever possible. With this in mind, Bärenreiter has entered an agreement with the Leipzig Bach Archive to reissue particular volumes as applicable, either in updated performing editions based on the New Bach Edition or in thoroughly revised editions based on the New Bach Edition - revised. Par SCHROEDER HERMANN. Concerto da chiesa' is the last organ work by Hermann Schroeder (1904-1984). It was composed a few months before his death. The premiere was performed by Clemens Ganz, then organist at the Cathedral of Cologne, in memory of the esteemed teacher and college colleague. The work marks the end of a tirelessly prolific life with more than one hundred organ works of various characters, genres and possibilities of use in liturgy and concerts. The title 'Concerto da chiesa' reveals that this is a work for concerts, not for being used in services. The three-movement composition is an unmistakable 'Schroeder' work: emphasis of linearity according to high baroque standards, conciseness and sometimes impulsive gestures of the themes and rhythms, layers of parallel chords within a freely tonal modern harmony, not forgetting the plasticity of form and the motor functions which are surprisingly energetic for an eighty-year-old./ Répertoire / Orgue

BWV 248. Par BACH JOHANN SEBASTIAN. For this edition, Carsten Klomp has transferred the orchestral movement of the 1st cantata from Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio to the organ. It not only enables a performance with a reduced line-up, but also a tonally appealing and surprisingly coherent rendition of this wonderful music. The way the voices are distributed on the manuals and pedal and the balance between virtuosity and good playability ensure both proximity to the original score and an organ-appropriate implementation. Instead of a simple piano reduction on the organ, this version offers an independent performance option that allows the organ to be used in all of its facets and possibilities.The vocal parts (solos and choir) are identical to the edition of the original version (Carus 31.248/00), so that the piano reduction and choral score can be used.The single part for the organ was optimized for page turning, i.e. the choral parts were not printed, but the dacapo was always notated out. / Date parution : 2021-12-09/ Répertoire / Orgue

(when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never beforeseen a rabbit with either a waistcoat pocket or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.
