This authentic arrangement of ten movements from the Water Music suites dates from Handel's lifetime, but is published here for the first time, edited by the distinguished Handel scholar Donald Burrows. Its simple, light scoring makes it excellently suited to use by schools and small instrumental groups. It can be performed in many different combinations from the original two violins, bassoon and continuo to string quartet or wind-based group. / Scores

Mozart's masterpiece, the PostHorn Serenade, was composed in 1779 for the Salzburg University's 'Finalmusik' ceremony that year. While the serenade gained its nickname from the call of the postHorn in the final minuet, the interior movements feature compelling concertante sections for Flute and Oboe.It is from the fourth movement that English composer Anthony Collins has skillfully adapted this cversion of the Rondo in G major. Collins himself was a composer of some reputation in the 20th century, best remembered for his light Orchestra piece, Vanity Fair, and for his film scores. This adaptation of Mozart's demanding and elegant rondo brings the piece into the chamber music repertoire. / Scores

Joseph Horovitz. Suite of five pieces for brass quintet: two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. Full Score. This work was composed in 1964 at the request of the well known American tuba player Roger Bobo. It was soon taken into the repertoire of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, who gave the first BBC broadcast. The first recording was on Pye records, by the Hallé Brass Ensemble. Since then it has become a regular repertoire piece and recorded as well as broadcast all over the world. The Suite consists of five movements, all illustrating aspects of the Burlesque Theatre, Music Hall, circus and cabaret, so popular at the end of the 19th century and into the 20th. The titles of the short movements are: Soubrette Song, Trick Cyclists, Adagio Team, Soft Shoe Shuffle and Les Girls. The five orchestral brass instruments (two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba) are exploited in a chamber music manner, but the cumulative effect has a theatrical quality in keeping with the title. / Scores
