Set includes 2 Scores and Trumpet part The Mystic Trumpeter (2018) for speaker, trumpet, and piano was commissioned by Edward Hull for Barbara Hull. The piece is based on the poem of the same name by the American poet Walt Whitman (1819â??1892). The poem was first published in 1872 and appeared in a later edition of his seminal collection Leaves of Grass. In this musical work, the poem is recited by spoken voice, and the tableaux that it presents are reflected in music for trumpet and piano. Each section of Whitmanâ??s poem sees the trumpeter in a different context. Likewise, the musical moods vary dramatically, though there are connections of motive that run throughout them all. “Sarabande et Finale is a nice piece by Raymond Gallois Montbrun for Bb or C Trumpet and Piano accompaniment. Quite difficult, this piece is great for recitals or concert. Starting with the Piano for just six measures before the Trumpet Solo, the sarabande has a slow tempo. The finale is faster, Allegro, and features a period with solo Piano before evolving into Vivo. It features the score and parts for Bb or C Trumpet. Raymond Gallois Montbrun (1918-1994) was a French violinist and composer who won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome and the Grand Prix de Paris. He later became the director of the Paris Conservatoire. He composed many symphonic pieces, an opera, a quartet and many pieces for Solo Piano, Violin and Piano and other instruments.â€.

Equinox Sonata (2015) for trumpet and piano was written for and is dedicated to Chris Gekker. The work was commissioned with support from the University of Maryland. At the two yearly equinoxes, the plane of the earth's equator passes the center of the sun, and day and night are equal. Sun Horizon is bright and energetic, cast in a loose sonata form. Dream Walking is dedicated in memory of composer Brian Fennelly (1937-2015). The tone is lyric and elegiac--building to several climaxes before ending quietly. Moon Mysteries begins with a machine-like ostinato and a modal melody. The (nervous) energy does not abate as the music presses towards a vigorous conclusion. Instrumentation: Trumpet and Piano Duration: 15' Composed: 2015 Published by: Zimbel Press.

Though born in the Netherlands, composer Marinus de Jong (1891 - 1984) traded his Dutch citizenship for a Belgian one in 1926, and is considered one of Belgium's most prominent composers and pianists of the 20th century. He began his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium, at the age of 15, studying under Lodewijk Mortelmans and Emile Bosquet. His Concerto for Trumpet, Op. 49 (Concerto voor trompet), published by Metropolis Music Publishers in 1959, is in three movements: Allegro giusto, Poco lento, Allegro vivo (a la Rumba). A dazzling and virtuosic piece, included with the score are parts for both B-flat and C Trumpet.
