Commande du Concours International de Tours 2019 Jérémie débute le saxhorn à l?harmonie municipale de Frévent (62) à l?âge de 8 ans. 10 ans plus tard, il se dirige vers Lille pour suivre un double cursus à la Faculté de Mathématiques et au Conservatoire de Lille auprès de Gabriel Capet. Après de brillantes études en euphonium, tuba, musique de chambre, Jazz, direction d?orchestre, écriture, dans les Conservatoires de Région de Lille Rouen et Amiens, Jérémie Dufort intègre la classe de tuba de Gérard Buquet au CNSM de Paris en 2001. Il y obtiendra un premier prix à l?unanimité en tuba, un premier prix en musique de chambre et sera le premier tubiste à intégrer la classe de Jazz du CNSM. Il remporte plusieurs récompenses dont le premier prix du Concours International Philip Jones de Guebwiller (France) en 2003 et le troisième prix du Concours International Citta di Porcia (Italie) en 2004, le deuxième prix du même concours en 2008 et le premier prix à l?unanimité du Concours de la FNAPEC en 2004. En 2005, il est nommé professeur assistant de la classe de tuba au CNSM de Paris. Il y enseignera pendant 7 années. Dès 2002, il intègre l?orchestre de la Police Parisienne. En 2006, Jérémie est choisi par Lorin Maazel lors d?une audition mondiale comme tuba solo du tout nouveau « Palau de les Arts de la Reina Sofia », l?Opéra de Valencia en Espagne. Il y passera une année riche en rencontres musicales sous la direction de Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboïm, Placido Domingo? En 2007, Jérémie choisit de rejoindre les rangs du prestigieux orchestre d?Harmonie de la Garde Républicaine. Parallèlement, il décide d?axer sa démarche artistique autour de la musique de chambre, du théatre musical, mais aussi autour du Jazz (Oktopussy Tuba Orkestra, Big Band d?Ivan Jullien, Jean Marie Machado?) et se passionne pour la musique contemporaine. Il est régulièrement sollicité par les plus prestigieux orchestres dont l?Ensemble Intercontemporain, l?Orchestre de Paris, l?Ensemble Modern de Frankfurt, l?Orchestre National de France, l?Orchestre National de Lille, l?Orchestre National d?Ile de France, l?Opéra de Paris, l?Opéra de Rouen, le Brussel Philharmonic? Enfin, afin de faire vivre le répertoire pour tuba solo, Jérémie nourrit de nombreux projets de concerts en soliste avec orchestre symphonique, orchestre d?harmonie ou brass band. Titulaire du Certificat d?Aptitude, Jérémie enseigne à l?école de musique de Hellemmes-Lille et au CRD d?Arras. Il dirige également l?Harmonie d?Hellemmes et l?Harmonie de Mouvaux. Tubiste du quintette de cuivres « Lille Brass Quintet », il fonde et dirige le « Lille Brass Ensemble », un ensemble de cuivres regroupant les solistes de l?Orchestre National de Lille et les professeurs du Conservatoire de Lille.

Edited by Robert King and published by Alphonse Leduc 70 Studies for BB flat Tuba – Volume 2 by Vladislav Blazhevich contains the first 28 studies out of 70. These studies do not correspond to a method for Tuba and it is generally understood that 70 studies are actually inspired from another piece of work from Blazhevich: 'Clef Studies for Trombone' even though 13 of these 70 studies did not appear in it. They were not transposed for Tuba but adapted for this instrument. These studies have become part of the basic teaching methods and these books are some of the most-mentioned studybooks for Tuba which are very popular. While they help to develop the Tuba techniques they can be used by different age ranges and different skill ranges. Vladislav Blazhevich (1881-1942) is a Russian Tuba player conductor and professor. He was also an amazing composer who created many methods for Wind instruments as well as concerti studies and musical pieces. Robert King (1914-1999) was an American editor who specialised in Brass composition. He created the 'Brass Player’s Guide' in the 1950s and developed strong relationship with Alphonse Leduc Éditions.

Number 276 of the collection “Music for Brass” each study is between one and two pages long and will enable intermediate players to work on their embouchure and their breathing. They will also help to gain a better sonority. S. Vasiliev has managed to make them quite lyrical to avoid any fastidious feeling while working on them. This volume is definitely a must-have for all tubists willing to improve their skills and abilities. This volume was selected for the ABRSM Tuba Syllabus Grade 4.
