In a true performance piece, Igudesman starts us off, appropriately, with Jingle Bells, but a Jingle Bells heard through his ears. This polite opening quickly morphs into an Igudesman-style Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, followed by other surprises of sacred and secular bent. His opening note, Kind of Christmassy with a touch of Hannukah, is apt, as his (recommended) sung We Wish You a Merry Christmas leads directly into I Have a Little Dreidel. Timid violinists are advised to stick with the generic Silent Night (which, surprisingly, also makes an appearance here, along with Auld Lang Syne). True performers of advanced skills will want to work this oddity into their holiday program this year. Christmas Confusion is challenging for both players, but will delight audiences with surprising quotes from familiar materials.

3 Pieces from Franz Lehar's operetta Die Lustige Witwe/The Merry Widow. Arranged for Violin and Piano by conductor Esther Bobrova Lange. These arrangements are based upon the song texts of the operetta and the character of the music. The famous melodies are equally balanced between violin and piano. Further, I have enlarged the arrangements with both rhythmical and melodious variations in the style of Franz Lehar. The bowing in the violin part is written by Arne Balk-Moeller, associate violin professor at the Southern Danish National Academy of Music, who also took into consideration the text and the music of the operetta. The nuances and articulations in both violin and piano are written according to the original vocal score. (Esther Bobrova Lange).

This is the violin solo part of Philip Glass's wonderful Violin Concerto No. 2 “American Four Seasons.” The piece was commissioned by Toronto Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, among others, the world premiere was held in Toronto on December 9th 2009, conducted by Peter Oundjian. At this premiere, the violinist was Robert McDuffie, for whom the Concerto was composed. During the summer and autumn of 2009, Glass composed this work after many years of exchanges with McDuffie. His idea of creating a work that would be influenced by, and an accompaniment to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Interestingly, Glass has provided no indication in the score of where each season falls, making it open for interpretation by the performers or the audience.
