Dans le cadre de l?année 2023, dédiée aux compositeurs suisses, l?Association suisse des musiques a commandé à Gauthier Dupertuis une nouvelle orchestration de l?Ouverture en Mi bémol de Stephan Jaeggi. En effet, une mise à jour de l?instrumentation était nécessaire à l?interprétation de cette ?uvre avec les orchestres modernes. Ainsi, l?orchestration que Gauthier Dupertuis propose, et qu?il a voulu fidèle à l?originale tout en répondant aux standards idiomatiques actuels, permettra aux orchestres actuels de pouvoir interpréter cette pièce d?inspiration classique-romantique. Compositeur et chef d?orchestre, Stephan Jaeggi est né en 1903 dans une famille nombreuse à Fulenbach (Canton de Soleure). Il a commencé la clarinette à 13 ans, a étudié la musique au Conservatoire de Bâle et a effectué son école de recrues au sein de la musique militaire. Une fois ses études terminées, il a dirigé plusieurs orchestres à vents. Dans ce rôle, mais aussi dans celui de compositeur, Stephan Jaeggi a accumulé les succès. Sa disparition prématurée, en 1957, a mis bien trop tôt un terme à la vie créative de Stephan Jaeggi. Amour et Psychéest le sixième et dernier poème symphonique du compositeur et fut achevé en 1887. La première eut lieu à Paris en 1888 et fut un grand succès, mais la pièce tomba plus tard complètement dans l\'oubli et ce ne fut que grâce à un minutieux travail de recherche si elle a été reprogrammée dans les salles de concert. L?amour complexe entre Psyché et Cupidon est une histoire originale tirée des Métamorphoses, écrite au IIe siècle après J.C. par Apulée. Le récit raconte les obstacles à surmonter dans l\'amour et leur union finale. Le poème symphonique est divisé en trois parties et implique la présence d\'un ch?ur. Le mouvement qui fait l\'objet de cet arrangement, Psyché et Érosse trouve à la fin de la deuxième partie.
