Annelies is the first adaptation of the diary of Anne Frank into a large-scale choral work. It brings to life the diary written by Annelies Marie Frank between 1942 and 1944 when she and her family hid in the backof an Amsterdam warehouse. Scored for Soprano soloist and SATB chorus with Piano reduction this vocal score can be used for both the chamber and orchestral versions of the work.

Morten Lauridsen is most noted for his vocal cycles and sacred motets which are performed extensively throughout the world. He is Professor of Composition at the USC Thornton School of Music in the United States. The Madrigali: Six ‘Fire Songs’ on Italian Renaissance poems were premiered in Los Angeles in 1988. Each of the six poems in the cycle contains romantic references to fire and the music is unified by manipulations of a sonority called the ‘Fire-Chord’ which opens the piece and is found extensively throughout. Whilst the pieces are contained in a cycle each piece could be performedindividually. Translations of the poems are provided. Martyr was commissioned by St Albans Chamber Choir in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of their founding. It was premiered by the St Albans Chamber Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in St Albans Abbey on 24 January 2009 under the direction of John Gibbons. Martyr was written as a counterpart to Haydn's Missa in Angustiis ('Nelson' Mass) using the same orchestration as Haydn's original version. In venues where an organ is present the optional organ part should always be used. The four SATB solo parts should be performed by a group of singers placed to the side or to the front of the orchestra away from the main chorus. Scored for Chorus SATB and Organ Parry’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis alternates unison lines with Chorally complex phrases in both movements. It includes examples of Parry’s characteristic forward-looking harmonies.Composer and Organist Hubert Parry creator of the great hymn Jerusalem among many other works was not intended by his family for a career in music. When he finished at Eton in 1966 he spent the summer studying composition in Germany before matriculating at Exeter College Oxford where he read law and modern history. During his time there he did very little composition but did create this Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D.

Text early 15th century-A new setting of the well-known Christmas text this work was written for London Consort Choir. It is a mostly homophonic and approachable but effective alternative to other settings of the text which will add variety to Christmas services and concerts as well as a choir’s Christmas repertoire.
