Coro SSAATBB, 3 Vl, Va, Bc, 2 Ob, 2 Fg, 3 Tr, Timp SKU: CA.5525819 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Edited by Alon Schab. Set of Orchestra Parts. Composed 1727. HWV 258. Duration 6 minutes. Carus Verlag #5525819. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.5525819). ISBN 9790007311056. English. Music for the ages: the coronation anthems Zadok the priest, Let thy hand be strengthened, The King shall rejoice and My heart is inditing, which Handel composed for the coronation of George II in 1727, are true masterpieces of the choral literature. Zadok the priest was performed for the anointing of the new King and more recently for the coronation of Charles III in 2023.For the Carus edition, available either individually or as a set, musicologist, composer and flutist Alon Schab has returned to the original manuscripts, paying special attention to the specific circumstances that played a role in the creation of the anthems. Befitting such a festive occasion, Handel’s choir in 1727 was a large ensemble composed of singers from two institutions. This six- or seven-voice ensemble had to be carefully balanced to perform the passages for four or five voices. Handel’s autograph score shows how he adapted his composition, originally conceived for a four- or five-voice choir, to the particular circumstances of the premiere: The manuscript is peppered with surprising vocal doublings, insertions, and rests, intended to ensure that, for example, the few tenors were not overpowered by the more numerous altos and basses, the boy sopranos harmonized with the mature voices, and the chorus blended well with the instruments in the rich ambience of Westminster Abbey. This edition traces these ad hoc additions to reveal a score that is startlingly similar to Handel’s familiar and beautifully direct choral style. All editorial decisions are thoroughly documented in the critical report. $97.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Coro SAATBB, 3 (2) Vl, Va, Bc, 2 Ob, 3 Tr, Timp SKU: CA.5526049 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Edited by Alon Schab. Composed 1727. HWV 260. Duration 11 minutes. Carus Verlag #5526049. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.5526049). ISBN 9790007252083. English. Music for the ages: the coronation anthems Zadok the priest, Let thy hand be strengthened, The King shall rejoice and My heart is inditing, which Handel composed for the coronation of George II in 1727, are true masterpieces of the choral literature. The King shall rejoice was probably played during the crowning of the king in London's Westminster Abbey. For the Carus edition, available either individually or as a set, musicologist, composer and flutist Alon Schab has returned to the original manuscripts, paying special attention to the specific circumstances that played a role in the creation of the anthems. $12.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

SATB Double Chorus, a cappella SKU: SU.91480580 For SATB Double Chorus...(+)
SATB Double Chorus, a cappella SKU: SU.91480580 For SATB Double Chorus, a cappella. Composed by Dan Locklair. Vocal/Choral, Sacred Choral. Choral Octavo. Subito Music Corporation #91480580. Published by Subito Music Corporation (SU.91480580). The text is by the English poet, Joseph Addison (1672-1719), and was originally titled, Hymn. The father of English hymnody, Issac Watts, thought highly of Addison, calling him the most authentic judge of fine thought and language that our age has produced. This Addison hymn first appeared in print in the August 23, 1712, issue of The Spectator, at the end of an article by Addison entitled, An Essay on the Proper Means of Strengthening and Confirming Faith in the Mind of Man. It is based on Psalm 19, vs. 1–6. My setting of Addison’s words is full of dialogue throughout between the divided choirs. A relatively short middle section at the words, What though in solemn silence all, briefly stills the vibrant pace. However, the rhythmic energy soon returns, propelling the anthem toward its climax at the hymn’s final line, The Hand that made us is divine.SATB Double Chorus, a cappella Duration: 3' Text: Joseph Addison Composed: 2009 Published by: Subito Music Corporation Minimum order quantity: 8 copies. | Rising into a New Era Concert band [Score and Parts] - Intermediate Hal Leonard
Score and Parts Concert Band (Score & Parts) - Grade 4 SKU: HL.4008967 (+)
Score and Parts Concert Band (Score & Parts) - Grade 4 SKU: HL.4008967 Concert Band, Grade 4 9:30 Score and Parts. Composed by Hermann Pallhuber. Symphonic Dimensions. Concert, Concert Band. Softcover. Duration 570 seconds. Hal Leonard #SDP267-24-02. Published by Hal Leonard (HL.4008967). UPC: 196288282167. “Rising into a New Era” was commissioned by the city of Landeck in 2023 to commemorate its 100th anniversary since being declared a city. The composition serves as the introductory part of a trilogy, encapsulating the years from 1923 to 1956, depicting Landeck's transformation from a market town to a city. The outset of the piece is characterized by a reserved and hushed atmosphere, reflecting the initial uncertainty during a period of economic challenges. The optimistic anticipation of a new beginning is only echoed by the sound of the city's new bells. The central motif, threading throughout the entire composition, is derived from the name of the city: LAnDECk (A-D-E-C). This motif unfolds at the onset within the resonance of the city's bells, gradually evolving into the main theme through the gentle tones of the clarinets. Following the initial years of the burgeoning city, where a positive societal shift and newfound security are symbolized by a second musical theme, the sudden eruption of the Second World War disrupts this progress. A mournful melody, borrowed from the cheerful second theme of the piece, speaks of sorrow, nostalgia, yet also solace and hope for peace and freedom. A “Vivace furioso” captures the uncertainties and intense turbulence of the war. These tumultuous emotions gradually settle, culminating after a delicate oboe and saxophone solo into the now powerful main theme presented in the form of a majestic chorale. A “Vivace con bravura” brings the composition to a radiant conclusion, signifying a strengthened future for the city of Landeck. $200.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
