(+)
Based on the Henle Complete Edition of the Works of Joseph Haydn.Orchestral parts available in a large format (25.5 x 32.5 cm).Haydn?s Symphony No.26 received its nickname Lamentazione during his lifetime though it is unclear whether this stems directly from the composer. This work probably originated no later than 1770. Its first and second movements quote excerpts from Gregorian chants used in Holy Week. In Haydn?s day it was customary to play individual movements in church services and it may be assumed that these two movements were performed and possibly composed independently from each other.Continuing thecollaboration between Bärenreiter and the Henle publishing company in the areas of large-scale choral works operas and symphonies Haydn?s Symphony No.26 is appearing based on the Henle Complete Edition of the Works of Joseph Haydn. The complete performance material for several of Haydn?s Sturm und Drang symphonies and all of the London and Paris symphonies has already been published.

Franz Joseph Haydn: Complete Piano Sonatas Vol. 1: Piano: Instrumental Work
Piano solo
Wiener Urtext

(+)
When Christa Landon presented the first printed version of her edition of Joseph Haydn's Piano sonatas Haydn's sonata oeuvre was still overshadowed by the works of Mozart and Beethoven. Since then Haydn's sonatas have progressed from the teaching rooms to the concert halls and Landon's edition has played a crucial role in that process. The Haydn anniversary in 2009 is a welcome occasion to thoroughly revise this 'legendary' edition for over the course of more than forty years new sources have come to light and questions of authenticity have been resolved not least because the editorial principles for 18th-centurymusic have changed considerably. The new edition comprises all works of the previous Wiener Urtext edition plus the sonata Hob. XVI:16 edited by Landon along with the Sonata in F major which was rediscovered in Bozen a few years ago and attributed to Joseph Haydn. The new edition is published in four volumes the content of each volume being compatible with the volumes of the previous edition. Volumes 1 and 2 contain the early sonatas. In the Notes on Interpretation Robert D. Levin explains important aspects of Haydn's performance practice.

(+)
Hob I:81-Haydn?s Symphony in G major Hob.I:81 comes from a series of three symphonies completed in late 1784 (nos. 81 80 and 79 presumably in that order). No autograph score survives for Hob.I:81 thus our Urtext edition is based on copyists? manuscripts and first editions. As with so many of his symphonies Haydn wrote this one to provide new music for his employer Prince Nicolaus Esterházy.Continuing the collaboration between Bärenreiter and the G. Henle publishing company regarding Haydn?s large-scale choral works operas and symphonies this edition is based on the G. Henle Complete Edition of the Works of Joseph Haydn. Bärenreiterhas now published the complete performance material for several Sturm und Drang symphonies and all the London and Paris symphonies (Nos. 81 to 104).- Based on the G. Hob. I:91-This four-movement work with a slow introduction is Haydn?s last symphony for ?Small? Orchestra i.e. without Trumpets and Timpani. However it has long passages for solo Violoncello and is also scored for two Bassoons. The editor of this edition recommends a performance with low Horns (additionally included in the wind set) to prevent the musical character of the Andante from being compromised by the predominantly high registers.Continuing the collaboration between Bärenreiter and the Henle publishing company in the areas of large choral works operas and symphonies this edition is appearing based on the Henle Complete Edition of theWorks of Joseph Haydn. (+)
When Joseph Haydn composed his smaller early Piano sonatas then called divertimentos he clearly kept the beginner and amateur pianist in mind. With only few technical demands these works nevertheless provide an excellent insight into the cosmos of Haydn's Piano music and introduce the player to Haydn's musical language in an exemplary manner. The current edition combines four of the most popular of these easy sonatas for beginners' lessons which already contain essential elements of the classical Viennese Piano style. The text is based on the revised new edition by Ulrich Leisinger who is also responsible for the legendary urtextedition of Joseph Haydn's Piano sonatas by Christa Landon.

(+)
Frauenchor. Par HAYDN FRANZ JOSEF. Haydn presumably wrote his 'Missa brevis” in 1775 for the Brothers Hospitallers of Eisenstadt Abbey. The work takes its nickname, the 'Little Organ Mass', from the organ solo in the 'Benedictus”. This arrangement for female choir (SMezAA) is based on the complete edition of the 'Works of Joseph Haydn”. The original soprano and alto parts have, for the most part, been taken over, as has the soprano solo in the 'Benedictus”. The tenor and bass parts are distributed among the mezzo-sopranos and altos, with a few well thought-out alterations to preserve the harmonic structure. Heribert Breuer has retained the original substance with great skill while giving the work a wholly new and attractive sound. Heribert Breuer was professor of choral conducting and music theory at Berlin University of the Arts until 2010. He is the founder and conductor of the Berlin Bach Academy. - Arrangement for SMezAA based on the Henle Complete Edition of the Works of 'Joseph Haydn” - Idiomatic piano reduction (BA 5694-90)/ Répertoire / Piano

This edition clarifies a performance aspect of Haydn?s Symphony in G major that has long been misunderstood: in m. 1 of the second movement (Largo) the viola violoncello and several wind instrument parts are marked ?solo? indicating that they play important motifs or themes and ought to stand out.Contrary to other editions the ?solo? marking in the violoncello should not be construed as indicating a solo instrument with the remaining cellos doubling the basses. Rather the cellos should play as a section so as to stand out all the more clearly.Continuing the collaboration between Bärenreiter and the Henle publishing company in large-scalechoral works operas and symphonies this edition is based on the Henle Complete Edition of the ?Works of Joseph Haydn? . London No. 7-The Symphony No. 104 in D Major is Joseph Haydn's final symphony and is known as the London symphony. It was composed and premiered by the composer in London in 1795 and consists of four movements: Adagio Allegro Andante Menuetto Allegro Trio Finale Spiritoso. It is the best-known of Haydn’s works and epitomises the classical style and structure of the symphonic form. Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) was an Austrian composer who became the figurehead of the classical movement. He formed a close and mutually respectful relationship with Mozart and later taught Beethoven but it was his compositions that left an indelible markon the musical landscape of Western Europe.

“Missa brevis in F in score. This was the first Mass which Mr. Haydn composed whilst still a student” says an entry in the catalogue of Haydn’s musical estate. Circa 1798/99 Haydn entered the work without an incipit in his working catalogue as “Missa brevis in F. / a due Soprani”. Around 1805/06 he added in shaky decrepit handwriting to the title “Missa.” on the front page of the organ part of one of the set of parts prepared by his copyist Johann Elßler: “Brevis / di me Giuseppe Haydn mpria / 1749”. This date the earliest yet found on a work by Haydn corresponds to the title of the Haydn catalogue whichindicates the eighteenth year of Haydn’s life i. e. 1749/50 as the starting point of his work: “Catalogue of all those compositions which I happen to remember writing from my 18th to my 73rd year of life.” In 1805 Haydn set about adding further instruments to the original scoring for two violins and figured organ bass and by 15th February 1806 the larger instrumentation was ready as is evidenced by a letter written on this very day by the Haydn biographer Georg August Griesinger. It is however by no means certain whether the seventy-three-year-old undertook this adaptation himself. - Urtext from Joseph Haydn Werke - Full score parts (BA4644) and vocal score (BA4644-90) available for sale - Early string version and later version with wind instruments and timpani

The oratorio The Creation represents not only a crucial point in Joseph Haydn's compositional output but at the same time marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the oratorio. At the turn of the 19th century Haydn broke with the traditional dominance of the arias giving the chorus a distinctly greater significance. This opened the way for a new kind of choral oratorio which became one of the standard features of developing bourgeois concert life. The text translated from the English original by Baron van Swieten Prefect of the imperial court library in Vienna combines prose texts of the creation story inLuther's translation of the Bible with complementary excerpts from John Milton's Paradise Lost.- New edition based on the Urtext from the Complete Edition of “Joseph Haydn’s Works” published by G. Henle Verlag.- Vocal score with a contemporary Piano reduction by A. E. Müller revised by A. Köhs.- Excellent presentation on the page.

Rather the cellos should play as a section so as to stand out all the more clearly.Continuing the collaboration between Bärenreiter and the Henle publishing company in large-scalechoral works operas and symphonies this edition is based on the Henle Complete Edition of the ?Works of Joseph Haydn? . 4 Regards Sur Les Quatuors A Cordes De Joseph Haydn

(+)
