Cette formation est à l'affiche des plus grands festivals de jazz de l'été 2002 (Jazz à Vienne, Marciac, LaVillette, Orléans) et effectue un grand nombre de concerts sur les scènes nationales. En 2003, le quartet devient sextet pour interpréter une suite instrumentale de jazz d'aujourd'hui dédiée aux grands thèmes de la musique classique et traditionnelle andalouse (Andaloucia, Le chant du Monde - Harmonia Mundi , 2005)En 2003, Jean-Marie Machado crée un magnifique duo avec le saxophoniste américain David Liebman autour d'un répertoire dédié en partie au fado. Par FERRARIO PIETRO. Jubilate Deo was written an June 2002, and dedicated by the composer to his Ensemble vocale Calycanthus. The first world performance took place in Italy at Isola Vicentina – Santuario di S. Maria del Cengio, by the Ensemble vocale Calycanthus, on May 2003, 10th. The piece was unanimously awarded the first prize at the International Trophy of Choral Composition “C. A. Seghizzi” 2004 at Gorizia [Italy], and was performed during the prestigious final of the European Choral Grand Prix 2004 by Ars Cantica Choir. The motet has a great rhythmic vivacity, with rich and colourful harmonies. It has a simple structure A-B-A’. The contrasting central section is more meditative, with manysolos, and echoes from Gregorian chant. A good six years following its first performance in Milan [1773] a second version of Exsultate, jubilate was completed for a performance on Trinity Sunday in 1779. It has survived in a manuscript from Salzburg. This “Salzburg version, ” which was discovered in 1978, differs from the “Milan version” primarily through the use of flutes instead of oboes and also through the use of two different texts for the first aria. In the first version the text refers to Christmas, whereas in the second version it refers to the festival of Trinity. Mozart’s autograph of the Milan version had been thought to be missing since the second world war and it has only been accessible in the BibliotekaJagiellónska in Kraków for a little over a decade.
