Le premier tableau est consacré à Bangkok, ville agitée et mystérieuse où l’ancien et le moderne demeurent côte à côte. Le second tableau, plus mystique, dépeint l’insondable mystère et la conception humanitariste des croyances bouddhiques. Le troisième tableau suit la ligne de chemin de fer qui mène vers la frontière du Myanmar via le Col des Trois Pagodes. Par SCHOONENBEEK KEES. The first movement of this work, an Allegretto, begins with a fanfare-like opening. After a number of other melody lines, a reprise of the beginning follows, which ends in a cadenza for the soloist. Movement two, titled Rituel, is characterized by interplay between the soloist and the band within a stately melody. In the final movement, the theme of the first movement’s opening returns. As the indication ‘alla marcia’ of the last movement suggests, this Allegro Giocoso contains march-like music that guarantees a lively conclusion. With Concertino, Kees Schoonenbeek has written an appealing work that is very suitable for a beginner soloist. The second movement introduces a theme by Johann Pachelbel followed by several variations on the theme - a technique favoured by Kees Schoonenbeek. The third movement is a neo-Baroque rondo which introduces thematic elements from the first movement. Im ersten Satz wird ein schöner Kontrast zwischen einem fröhlichen Staccato und einem lyrischen, in marcato gehaltenem Teil herausgearbeitet. Der zweite Satz erfordert ein gutes Gleichgewicht zwischen Melodie und Begleitung. Der dritte Satz ist eine richtige Shownummer. Hier sind Staccatospiel, genauer Rhythmus und kontinuierliche Dynamik gefragt.
