Rienzi remains one of the most popular works from the ?master of romantic opera?, Richard Wagner. The Friedensmarsch from the fourth act (scene 2) of Rienzi is subdued and solemn in character: in the sounds of this march, Rienzi strides to a stately church service. This is sure to be a very popular addition to any performance and is one not to be missed.

Published by Anglo Music Press (BT.AMP-340-140). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. Of Skies, Rivers, Lakes and Mountains was commissioned by the Northern California Band Directors' Association to honour their 50th Anniversary in 2012. The first performance was given by the Association’s 2012 Honor Band, conducted by Dr Royce Trevis, in the Harlen Adams Theater, California State University, Chico, California, on 4th February that year. The brief for the commission asked for a piece that celebrated the United States’ natural resources and composer Philip Sparke turned to Katharine Lee Bates’s lyrics for the song America the Beautiful, of which the first and last verses are:O beautiful for spacious skies,For amber waves of grain,For purplemountain majestiesAbove the fruited plain!America! America!God shed His grace on thee,And crown thy good with brotherhoodFrom sea to shining seaThe three movements each take their title from these verses:1. O Beautiful for Spacious Skies: Opening with filigree woodwind figuring, this movement aims to recreate the light and lightness of a spring sky, birds and blossoms floating on gentle breezes.2. From Sea to Shining Sea: A vivacious celebration of water bubbling in streams, rivers and lakes.3. For Purple Mountain Majesties: A slow final movement representing an awe-inspiring range of mountains
America! America!
Der Komponist Philip Sparke wählte daher die erste und letzte Strophe aus Katherine Lee Bates’ Text zum Lied America the Beautiful, die da lauten:O beautiful for spaciousskies,For amber waves of grain,For purple mountain majestiesAbove the fruited plain!America! America!God shed His grace on thee,And crown thy good with brotherhoodFrom sea to shining seaDie Titel der drei Sätze stammen alle aus diesen Strophen:1.
America!God shed His grace on thee,And crown thy good with brotherhoodFrom sea to shining sea(Amérique ! | István (part 3 from 'Sinfonia Hungarica') Concert band [Score and Parts] - Intermediate/advanced De Haske Publications
Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1002209-010 Composed by Jan V...(+)
Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1002209-010 Composed by Jan Van der Roost. Sovereign Series. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2000. De Haske Publications #DHP 1002209-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1002209-010). Sinfonia Hungarica is a three-movement symphony that depicts the history of Hungary. All three movements were inspired by historical key figures, wars, and other important events from this country. This symphony is a celebration of Hungary’s millennium in 2001.The final movement is named after ISTVAN, the King who introduced Christianity into Hungary and who was crowned by Pope Silvestro II on January 1, 1001. A rather solemn start leads to another war-like passage, ending with some loud crashes. This symbolizes the fact that the body of the pagan Koppany was cut into four pieces, and sent to the four castles of the country as an example. After a quiet, almost religiousintermezzo, the National Hymn of Hungary is introduced. This broad “grandioso†ending also has a symbolic meaning: after ten centuries, Hungary has many reasons to look back on the past with pride, and to look forward to the future with optimism and confidence.
$314.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1002209-140).

All three movements were inspired by historical key figures, wars, and other important events from this country. This symphony is a celebration of Hungary’s millennium in 2001.ATTILA, King of the Huns, often named “The scourge of God,†is the central figure of the first movement, mainly characterized by fear, threat, aggression, and cruelty. Attila’s brother, Buda, however, has a more heroic theme, while his beloved wife, Rika, has a lyrical melody. The exciting ending of this opening movement illustrates the dreaded speed of Attila’s troops: they pursued their victims and killed them all!

$62.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

After this, Arpad officially named the territory “Magyarorszag.â€

Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1043766-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. This stately opening work begins in the low register with a broad main theme from the low brass immediately setting the tone. Gradually other sections and registers enter and despite retaining a majestic character the rhythmic element becomes more active. This work makes truly creative use of sound, without great virtuosity or complexity, but maintains a good balance between static and dynamic elements.
$137.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

$137.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

This stately opening work begins in the low register with a broad main theme from the low brass immediately setting the tone. Gradually other sections and registers enter and despite retaining a majestic character the rhythmic element becomes more active. This work makes truly creative use of sound, without great virtuosity or complexity, but maintains a good balance between static and dynamic elements.
Fanfare Band - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1115084-020 Composed by Jan Van der Roost. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Set (Score & Parts). De Haske Publications #DHP 1115084-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115084-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. It may be surprising to see a fanfare piece commissioned by a Japanese ensemble, since fanfare orchestras are typically found in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, and also France and Switzerland. Senzoku Gakuen is one of the largest and mostprestigious music universities in Japan, and home to a wide variety of ensembles and orchestras. Since 2006 they have had a fanfare orchestra, which was started by Sotaru Fukaishi, a euphonium teacher who felt further performance opportunity wasneeded for saxhorn instruments. Fukaishi had loved the sound of fanfare orchestras ever since visiting the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (Holland) several years earlier. Jan Van der Roost was involved with this new initiative from the beginning, and they were also joined by Manu Mellaerts for certain projects. The Dean of the music department, Professor Kazuo Tomioka, fully supports the ensemble and commissioned Ostinati. The première took place on June 11th at Maeda Hall inMizonokuchi (Kawasaki) where Senzoku Gakuen is based. The piece opens with an impressive timpani solo, followed by brass and saxophone. The rhythmical pulse remains constant and the music is fiery and assertive in character. A pentatonic melodygradually emerges and the music loses its vehemency and softens. The initial percussion ostinati subsequently recurs and the first section of the piece concludes in a similar mood to the opening. The second movement is sweet and melodic, opening witha long passage for the saxophone family in a minor key. The same theme then appears in the major and is developed upon; the music builds to a majestic orchestral forte, reminiscent of a pipe organ in its sonority. The theme returns in the originalminor key with a change in instrumentation leading the movement to a quiet and peaceful end on a soft E minor chord. The finale starts with percussion: a four-bar pattern is repeated several times over which the movement’s melodic themes areintroduced. These melodic elements are varied and used in different versions and the ostinato idea, which characterizes the entire piece, is highlighted. The theme travels through the orchestra, appearing on various instruments and in variousregisters. It captures the listener’s attention and displays the full range of sound and colour within the fanfare orchestra.

Accordion Orchestra - Grade 5 SKU: BT.DHP-1074246-060 Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Foppe Jacobi. Accordion. Set (Score and Parts). Composed 2007. De Haske Publications #DHP 1074246-060. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1074246-060). ISBN 9789043128377. 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. Danse Macabre, or Dance of Death, is one of the most famous works by Camille Saint-Saëns. The composition is based on the poem of the same name by Henri Cazalis (1840-1909).The dance of death is musically represented with various effects, starting with twelve strokes of the clock - which of course suggest midnight. Then dissonant sounds and a somewhat wistful waltz melody follow. A thematic build-up full of tempo changes leads to an intense majestuoso, which ends abruptly, after which a melancholy farewell melody takes over. This wonderful symphonic poem appeals to everyoneâ??s imagination - as it will in this expert arrangement for accordion orchestra.
$90.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
