The folk songs in each volume have been chosen for their lively rhythms and robust harmonies and each volume includes an original piece by Mike Cornick that draws on the styles and mannerisms of the region. Auteur-compositeur-interprĂšte de folk anglais, Nicholas Rodney Drake (1948-1974) Bien qu?Ă©tant saluĂ© par la critique, n?a jamais obtenu l?attention du public de son vivant. Cependant Nick Drake est l?objet d?une reconnaissance posthume, ses trois albums, loin d?ĂȘtre tombĂ©s dans l?oubli, suscitent un intĂ©rĂȘt croissant auprĂšs des nouvelles gĂ©nĂ©rations.

Nick Drake a traversĂ© le monde musical Ă  la vitesse d?une mĂ©tĂ©orite. Artiste lunaire, magicien de la six cordes acoustique, ce fĂ©ru de poĂ©sie se lance trĂšs tĂŽt dans l?Ă©criture de chansons. Puis il dĂ©cide de tout sacrifier Ă  cette passion, abandonne ses Ă©tudes, fait quelques concerts, finit par ĂȘtre signĂ© dans une maison de disques et publie son premier opus : « Five leaves left » (1968). Reconnu par la presse mais boudĂ© par le public, Nick Drake sort deux ans plus tard « Bryter layter ». L?album une nouvelle fois excellent ne parvient pas Ă  sĂ©duire le public pas plus que son dernier disque, le crĂ©pusculaire « Pink moon » paru en 1972.

Le jeune homme, dĂ©couragĂ© et en proie Ă  de graves problĂšmes personnels songe Ă  tout arrĂȘter et retourne vivre chez ses parents. Il y est retrouvĂ© mort Ă  l?automne 74.

Nick Drake est l?objet d?une reconnaissance posthume, ses trois albums, loin d?ĂȘtre tombĂ©s dans l?oubli, suscitent un intĂ©rĂȘt croissant auprĂšs des nouvelles gĂ©nĂ©rations.
