A Song of the New Jerusalem (And I saw a New Heaven) was commissioned by the Sanders Society in 2011 and first performed by the choir of Gloucester Cathedral in July that year. It is dedicated to the late Dr John Sanders OBE who was organist of Gloucester Cathedral from 1967-1994.The piece serves as an alternative to the well-known and much loved classic by Edgar Bainton and is designed to be of similar choral difficulty though the organ part is generally a little more involved. It consists of shimmering effects arresting motifs and builds towards a grand climax for the words 'Behold I make all things new'. The music then subsides and disappears as quickly asit emerged. It is a particularly effective anthem for Remembrance and Advent but also for more general use throughout the liturgical year.

Composed in the spirit of folk music the cantata combines traditionalsounds with more rustic elements creating a blend that is fresh and pleasing. Popular American carols like Away In a Manger and O Little Town of Bethlehem dance with traditional spirituals such as Children GoWhere I Send Thee and Go Tell It on the Mountain. Sacred Harp tunes are re-tooled for Advent and stand alongside new versions of Shaker hymns and Appalachian melodies. Baroque allemand poésie me fascine depuis longtemps.

This chart-climbing track off Taylor Swift's new album Red is said to be one of her favorites. It tells the story of being frustrated with yourself for having a broken heart over a person you knew was wrong for you from thebeginning. Great story-telling with a pop-rock feel mixed with just a thin line of country – your choirs will love it!

hymns: SATB: Vocal Score Chorale SATB SATB, Piano [Vocal Score] Boosey and Hawkes
Three jazz hymns. These jazz arrangements of well-known hymns were written for A...(+)
Three jazz hymns. These jazz arrangements of well-known hymns were written for Andrew Earis and choirs of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London for various services and BBC broadcasts from that church. The setting of Come down, O Love divine supplies some new harmonic moves to Vaughan Williams? lovely tune Down Ampney, gradually adding vocal harmony through the verses, with a short descant section in the final verse. The compound-time arrangement of God is Love, which can also be sung to the supplied words of Charles Wesley?s hymn Love Divine, again adds more of Todd?s iconic jazz harmonies and textures in the vocal parts with each successive verse. The setting of Let all mortal flesh keep silence is structured to gradually build layers over the moody piano chords and the pedal harmony. At the end the music builds to a large climax for ?Lord most high?. The hymns can be performed using the supplied piano part or using the chord symbols above. Double bass may also be used in addition to piano, again following the supplied chord symbols, and parts for optional jazz ensemble are available. Performers of these hymns should feel free to include the congregation or audience in imaginative ways.
