The idea for this book series is to give instrumentalists the opportunity to practice solo improvisational techniques while playing along to rhythm tracks of keyboards guitar bass drums/percussion in various different Latin styles including Calypso Mambo Salsa Songo Bossa Guaracha Samba and Latin-Blues. The 24 grooves totalling over 200 riffs/phrases and play-a-long tracks consists of a variety of tempos and keys. Each groove has a variety of riffs to learn that are generally 4 or 8 measures in length. It would be beneficial if you could memorize these riffs so that you can experiment using different permutations of the riffs as well as being used as a starting offpoint for one's own improvisations. Each riff has been recorded with a rhythm track with each style having an extended play-a-long track around 3 minutes in length recorded without the solo part so you can practice the riffs that you have learned. Also these musical phrases or riffs may be interchanged from one groove to another and should be learned in as many keys as possible.

Traditional church Organs are no longer the exclusive domain of Bach and the like - popular styles have conquered the “king of instruments” and found wide-ranging forms of expression. The only thing missing to date is a broad selection of suitable pieces. This is where Jazz Inspirations For Organ steps in. This comprehensive collection of moderately difficult pieces by various composers and organists offers “classical” swing jazz blues and Latin numbers side by side with rumba ragtime and calypso. A chorale prelude on Silent Night rubs shoulders with a Swing Fughetta and Latin for Lefties. The collection's great attraction lies in its personal treatment of the various themes. The editors are experienced organists fully conversant with the timbral possibilities of the pipe Organ. Their suggestions regarding registration are valuable tips that allow organists to develop their own style and be creative.

Album for organ solo from the composer of the much-recorded 'Miroir?. The album consists of four pieces of between 2½ and 4 minutes' duration respectively. 'Play it cool!? was composed as the mandatory test piece in the 2012 First Breda International Organ Competition, with the Grote Kerk's four-manual Flentrop/Van den Heuvel instrument in mind. As the title suggests, the piece makes great play on syncopated, jazz- and rock-inflected figures. Suitable for advanced standard performers. 'The Messenger on the Hill?, while similarly syncopated and witty, is within easy reach of intermediate standard players. Laid out for two-manual instrument it features an almost continuous oscillating left-hand figure with right-hand melody and a very simple pedal part. 'Rejoice!? is an arrangement of a work for saxophone and organ, made at the request of, and in collaboration with, Thomas Trotter. A duo for contrasting manuals, with a simple, syncopated bass part in the pedals. Suitable for advanced standard performers. 'Passacaglia?, also for two-manual instrument, is composed almost entirely for the white notes. The simple passacaglia theme is repeated throughout on the pedals. Above this, melodic material derived from the theme is played in the right hand against a sustained, chordal left-hand accompaniment. Later on, there is dialogue between the hands, with some optional ornamentation in the right hand. Suitable for intermediate standard performers. / Orgue

Franz Schubert’s popular German Mass of 1827 follows in the footsteps of Michael Haydn’s work Deutsches Hochamt by turning to a German translation of the Ordinary mass. Its homophonic texture and largely syllabic setting of the words make it more accessible to lay choruses than Schubert’s masses in Latin an advantage reinforced by its diatonic melodic writing and constantly slow tempos. The present edition reproduces the Urtext from the New Schubert Edition and presents the definitive second version for chorus and wind instruments. Since the piano reduction basically follows the choral lines and Schubert’s original organ part however the Mass can also be performedwith organ accompaniment.- Urtext from the New Schubert Edition- Standard work in the church music repertoire- Can be accompanied by organ or wind instruments- No vocal soloists necessary

Prelude Canonique for Chamber Orchestra (version 2009) Canonic elements play an important role in this work. Shortly after the opening a two-part canonic passage is introduced by the violins. Later on this energetic music shows up as three-part and four-part canons in different orchestrations. But next to the canons a different kind of music is present almost from the beginning: fragments of choral-like melodic lines. Gradually choral-like music gets a more prominent role. By a process of manipulating the fragments in different ways (i.e. argumentation and superpositioning) a more extensive version of the choral isprogressively (re)constructed. At the end of the piece the choral appear in its ‘original’ form. Niels Rosing-Schow 2009
