Zakpartituur-The Magic Flute remains Mozart's most popular opera worldwide to this day. Schikaneder?s Freihaustheater auf der Wieden was a theatre in the suburbs of Vienna. It was a kind of people?s theatre with a corresponding repertoire and its attraction for the public was due not least to the use of spectacular stage effects. The concept ?machine-comedy? refers to the theatrical genre to which ?The Magic Flute? owes its origins and to which the work originally belonged. The premiere was given on 30 September 1791 conducted by Mozart.Urtext of the New Mozart EditionFull score (BA4553-01) vocal score (BA4553-90) and study score format22.5 x 16.5cm (TP155) available for salePerformance material (BA4553-72 available for hire

Trinity Sunday Mass-The Missa in honorem SS:mae Trinitatis K.167 is Mozart's only mass bearing a dedication in its title and the only one written for chorus and orchestra without vocal soloists. We do not know the occasion for which the mass was written although it was undoubtedly related to the dedication. Perhaps it was first performed on Trinity Sunday 1773 since the autograph bears the date Giugno 1773 and Trinity Sunday fell an 5 June that year. The heavy scoring - for two oboes two clarini two trombe timpani two violins bass and organ - suggests that the mass owes its origin to a special festivity.Urtext of the New Mozart EditionFull score performance material(BA4783) and vocal score (BA4783-90) available for sale.

In its expression and structure the ?Regina coeli? K.108 (74d) in four movements composed in Salzburg in May 1771 clearly shows that Neapolitan church music served as Mozart?s model. The two outer movements in which a primarily homophonic chorus unfolds against a rich orchestral backdrop enclose two soprano arias sparkling with coloraturas of which the first aria has a choral epilogue at the end of each of its two sections. Appositely the last movement also picks up the solo-tutti contrast which in addition underscores the predominant role of the solo soprano characteristic of the entire composition.Urtext of the New Mozart EditionFull score &performance material (BA4886) and vocal score (BA4886-90) for sale

No other work by Mozart is so enshrouded in myth as his final composition the D-minor Requiem. Mozart died before its completion and the missing sections had to be added by others. The many handwritten copies circulated after his death added to the corruption of the text by contributing errors of their own. Now Peters is publishing a new urtext edition of this staple of the choral repertoire edited by David Black. The edition relies on Mozart’s composition and the traditional completion by Franz Xaver Süssmayr. For the first time however it incorporates sources previously unavailable to earlier editions including the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe.

The strict manner of the composition that prevails almost throughout the use of five and eight-part choruses the breadth of the solo movements as well as the treatment of the orchestra raise it infinitely above all his earlier works in this genre and place it beside the great Masses of Bach and Beethoven. The work was written for double chorus of mixed voices four solo voices and orchestra. Mozart never finished the Grand Mass and it has been completed by Alois Schmitt. This edition containsa piano reduction of the orchestral parts.
