White Sonata. This work is called White Sonata because it is played on the piano only on the white keys (C major - A minor). The subtitle refers to the child in all of us, regardless of age, who never wanted to grow up, but was forced to do so. With reference to the title of Peter Pan, the theme has to do with the shattered innocence of children who are subjected to abuse and decide to take refuge in themselves. Written around a lullaby, it refers to how to build an inner world to survive.

Par CAMPOGRANDE NICOLA. For a long time after Romanticism had come to the fore, it was generally agreed that Brahms somehow ?did not get it?: History and Progress ? it was thought - were proceeding along one clear path and Brahms ? who was composing sonatas and symphonies instead of nocturnes and symphonic poems ? had taken the wrong way. Almost one century later, Schönberg wrote an essay, Brahms, der Fortschrittliche ( Brahms, the progressive ), in which he explained that it wasn?t like that at all. Fully assuming the risk to appear somehow irreverent, I have to confess: Over the years, I came to the conclusion that the present ? and the future ? can be created only by loving the past. As Brahms had shown us, it is only by accepting the challenge of taking our heritage into our own hands, that we can create something new. We cannot avoid engaging with the past. Therefore, starting with my Sinfonia n. 1 , I began to flirt with such a strong and effective musical structure like the sonata form. I re-read and freely transformed it, because it is a sturdy and resilient structure, but also a theatrical and colorful one. For me, it is a happy structure. And I think that today more than ever we need something like this: We need to find places ? even imaginary ones ? where we can give happiness a form of its own. Fratres (original setting for violin and piano) was commissioned by the Salzburg Festival and premiered on August 17th 1980 at that very place (violin: Gidon Kremer piano: Elena Kremer). Daniel Hope internationally acclaimed violin soloist says about the piece: 'Fratres opened up my ears in a completely new way. Recently when I recorded it I was extremely pleased about the edition by Universal Edition. A masterpiece needs an illustration that clearly depicts the composer's wishes as it was done with this piece.'Composed in Pärt's very own 'Tintinnabuli'-style this piece allows many different settings because it is not bound to aspecific klangfarbe (tone color).

In 2006 she returned to the city where she was born. Her four-movement Suite for violin and piano was written as early as 1960.

Violon Et Piano

for Violin Viola and Orchestra-There is no reference to the origin occasion or a performance of the Sinfonia concertante in E-flat for Violin Viola and Orchestra K. 364 (320d) because in all probability it was composed in Salzburg (presumably in summer or early autumn 1779): Mozart seems to have had no reason to write about it. It was apparently in Paris that he first had the occasion of giving the genre of the 'Symphonie concertante' his special attention. On April 5 1778 he wrote to his father: 'Now I shall write a sinfonie concertante for flute wendling oboe Ramm Punto horn and Ritter bassoon'.Even more discouraging must have been the fact that he had similardifficulties in Paris in having the works performed as he had in Mannheim. After the organizier of the Concerts spirituels Le Gros contrary to his promise did not include the mentioned 'sinfonie concertante' in his program.Mozart had no reason to compose any more for this genre in Paris. After Mozart's return to Salzburg he might have been eager to introduce the new genre there especially since adequate instrumentalists were available. Also the choice of the solo instruments (violin and viola) in the work presented here was probably influenced by the popularity of this instrumental combination in Salzburg at that time.- Urtext of the New Mozart Edition- Full score and parts (BA4900) study score format 22.5 x 16.5cm (TP176) violin viola and piano reduction (BA4900-90) available for sale

In the relatively sparse Spanish repertoire for Piano and Violin El Poema De Una Sanluqueña is considered by many a key work of 20th century Spanish chamber music. Turina was a frequent visitor to the seaside town of Sanlúcar in his youth and his love for the town shines through in these four movements. The work Is dedicated to the ?muchachas? the girls of Sanlúcar who it is said ?don?t get married? because the boys of Sanlúcar marry outsiders. Turina wrote the work for ?those beautiful Andalusian girls living in a sad and never-ending dream.? Unlike earlier works of Turina this one was not descriptive but rather suggestive of an emotional state. The piece requires thegreatest technical expertise of both Violinist and pianist as well as sensitivity and humour. Joaquin Turina is often contrasted with Albéniz and Granados those two proponents of a Spanish national style. Turina strove to write music of a European standard in the conventional major forms. In his work it is possible to hear the influence of Turina?s years studying in Paris as well as his native Spain combined with the composer?s own unique Voice.

When Weber offered the sonatas for violin and piano to the publisher André from Offenbach in 1810, the latter refused to print them because they were 'too good and demanding'. In order to reach as large a target group of music-making amateurs as possible, the editors at that time increasingly saw to the works' easy playability. Fortunately, the sonatas nevertheless found their way into the repertoire of the violinists. This is a practical edition in two volumes based on the text of the Weber Complete Edition. / Violon Et Piano

Violin Sonata in G major-Inspired by Béla Bartók’s Violin sonatas Ravel...(+)
Violin Sonata in G major-Inspired by Béla Bartók’s Violin sonatas Ravel planned his own sonata for Violin and Piano in 1922 but at first did not get beyond sketches. Many interruptions ensued and the work was onlyfinished in 1927. He dedicated it to his violinist friend Hélène Jourdan-Morhange. Regarding the sonata’s sparse thinned out compositional structure and instrumentation Ravel later emphasized thatthe sonata proved the tonal incompatibility of the Violin and Piano. Yet it still succeeded in winning a permanent place in Violin repertoire – not least because of its middle movement inspired by jazz elements and the“blues”. The fingerings in this Henle Urtext edition have been provided by two masters of their instruments: Christian Tetzlaff and Pascal Rogé.

Of Grieg?s three Violin sonatas the great C-minor Sonata op. 45 is the best known today. And unjustly so because the two early sonatas are captivating in their joy to play and their fresh youthful tone. And what is more they can also be played by advanced students due to their somewhat lesser technical demands. Written in 1867 the G-major Violin Sonata op. 13 palpably draws on Grieg?s enthusiasm for Norwegian folk music; the lively outer movements in particular take as their model the traditional ?jumping dance.? Aside from the second print edition of 1887 revised by Grieg himself the autograph manuscript in Stockholm wasalso consulted for this edition thus offering an optimally ascertained musical text.

Violin and Piano reduction of Three Dances Op. 7 for Violin and Orchestra. The Three Dances are delightful miniatures written in 1915 in relatively carefree student days (relatively because the Great War was already a year old and Howells through ill health which nearly killed him in 1917 was exempted from active service). They were composed for a young fellow-student George Whittaker a highly gifted violinist who had entered the College aged only eleven. Certainly the music has no hint of the momentous events beginning to take shape and which would fundamentally affect one of his closest friends Ivor Gurney and kill a number of others.

Masterworks for Violin Series for Violin and Piano. Par PAGANINI NICCOLO. Contains La Campanella, Op.7 and Moto Perpetuo, Op.11. Niccolò Paganini gave the premiere performance of his Second Violin Concerto at La Scala in Milan, 1827. The success of the performance was such that the last movement of the concerto was repeated. The subtitle of this movement is \'La Campanella\' (The little bell) because of the sound the harmonics in this work produce. Paganini known for his pyrotechnics uses double harmonics and left hand pizzicato lavishly in this movement. Moto Perpetuo is one of Paganini\'s most popular works. Dozens of transcriptions exist for a variety of instruments, from marimba to double bass, as well as for orchestra, where all first violins play the solo part. The 3,032 sixteenth notes in this four-minute composition require formidable skill and endurance from the performer. / Date parution : 2022-01-14/ Recueil / Violin et Piano
