The De Haske Guitar Series gives a whole variety of music in diverse styles for a wide selection of acoustic guitar ensembles. The irresistible song I Got Rhythm by George and Ira Gershwin, is taken from his musical comedy Girl Crazy (1930).

J.N.M. van den Langenberg machte drei der bekanntesten Lieder aus dem Repertoire des amerikanischen Komponisten in mittelschweren Ausgaben dem Gitarrenquartett zugänglich. Der schwungvolle Titel I Got Rhythm entstand 1930 für das Musical Girl Crazy. Das Akkordschema wurde unter dem Namen Rhythm Changes sehr bekannt und oft verwendet.

Comm issioned for the 7th edition of DROME DE GUJITARE, this piece was created at the theater of the city of Valencia, on October 27, 2023, under my direction by the D.D.G guitar orchestra.
It pays tribute to the memory of my friend Roland Dyens.
The 1st movement, quite brief (1 minute), emphasizes a motif which metamorphoses into a harmonious accompaniment of the themes of the 2nd movement (5 minutes) LIGHT, this in calm and serenity. This 2nd movement fades at the end to reveal a motif which accelerates to give a burlesque and clumsy dance: DANCE ELEPHANTASQUE (3 minutes) with an obsessive theme which concludes this work.

Commandà ƒÂƒÃ‚©e pour la 7ème édition de « DROME DE GUJITARE », cette pièce fut créée au théâtre de la ville de Valence, le 27 octobre 2023, sous ma direction par l’orchestre de guitares D.D.G.
Elle rend hommage à la mémoire de mon ami Roland Dyens.
Le 1er mouvement, assez bref (1 minute), insiste sur un motif qui se métamorphose en accompagnement harmonieux des thèmes du 2e mouvement (5 minutes) « LUMIERE», cela dans le calme et la sérénità ©. Ce 2e mouvement s’estompe à la fin pour laisser apparaître un motif qui s’accél ère pour donner une danse burlesque et pataude : « DANSE ELEPHANTASQUE » (3 minutes) avec un thème obsessionnel qui vient conclure cet œuvre.

In dieser Bearbeitung für 4 Gitarren wird die Melodie in der Strophe (Teil A) (Pharrell's Falsetto-artige Soulstimme) von der 1. Gitarre, im Refrain (Teil B) von der 3. Gitarre gespielt. Die Bridge (Teil C) ist im Original hauptsächlich perkussiv (mit Händeklatschen), in diesem Arrangement werden Ghost Notes und Guitar Percussion eingesetzt.

'I Shot The Sheriff' ist dank seiner eingängigen Melodik und des berühmten Gitarren-Riffs (Takt 1-4) einer der bekanntesten Reggae-Songs aller Zeiten. In dieser Bearbeitung für 4 Gitarren ist die Melodie in der 1. Gitarre (Teile A, B und D) rhythmisch einfach gehalten, da sie in höheren Lagen gespielt werden soll (V., VII. bzw. X. Lage). Die 2., 3. und 4. Gitarre bleiben in der I. und II. Lage, sind von der Melodik her sehr einfach, von der Rhythmik her aber interessanter gesetzt, sodass sich im Zusammenklang Akkorde, Chorstimmen, die typische Bassführung und einige Raffinessen der Reggae-Begleitung finden lassen. Teil C bringt eine Art ausgeschriebene Improvisation in der 2. und 3. Gitarre, die sich beim Solieren abwechseln und ergänzen sollen.
