Gli arpeggi a 5 note, predisposti in cadenza rispettivamente in ogni posizione (box), sono diteggiati, ascendendo e discendendo su tutte le sei corde, sul modello delle scale di posizioevitando, finchè possibile, gli allargamenti. A titolo esemplificativo vengono proposti alcuni patterns composti esclusivamente con le 5 note degli arpeggi. Viene mostrato inoltre come, sostituendo tra loro sempre gli stessi arpeggi, si possano insergli accordi sia le estensioni di nona e tredicesima, che le alterazioni della quinta e della nona.
