Organ Coro II-The Missa in F of 1734 for two or four choirs is probably Pergolesi’s most important work for choir and orchestra. The nickname 'Missa Romana' was added later in reference to a performance given in Rome during Pergolesi’s lifetime. This Urtext edition presents the work for the first time in the four-choir version that Pergolesi wrote for the above mentioned performance in Rome. Choirs III and IV are reproduced in smaller type and are added to the version for double choir in order to intensify the overall sound. This allows the work to be performed not only with two choirs but also in the delightful enlarged version for fourchoirs. Rounding off the edition are an informative Foreword (Eng/Ger) and a Critical Commentary (Eng).First publication with choirs III and IV.Can be performed with both two or four choirs.Idiomatic well-presented Piano reduction.Full score performance material (BA8958) and vocal score (BA8958-90) available for sale.

HWV 258 accompanied the king’s anointment HWV 260 his actual coronation. Thanks to their festive and majestic structure befitting the occasion as well as their spacious scoring for large choir and orchestra it comes as no surprise that motifs from Zadok The Priest have found their way into the official hymn of the UEFA Champions League. The present editions by the authoritative Handel scholar Stephan Blaut are thefirst to offer these two anthems based on the Urtext from the Halle Handel Edition.Bilingual Forewords (Ger/Eng).Idiomatic Piano reductions.Based on the Halle Handel Edition.Full score parts and vocal score available for sale.

Cantata for soloists choir and orchestra-Lobe den Herrn meine Seele (Praise thou the Lord o my spirit) BWV 143Little is known about the genesis of “Lobe den Herrn meine Seele” (Praise thou the Lord o my spirit BWV 143.A transcription from the 19th century was for a long time considered the only source; the musical text of the “New Bach Edition” was based on this material. Recently however a copy of the score from 1762 has become available. It offers a more reliable musical text rendering a complete revision of the cantata necessary. On the basis of this new source the work is presented here as part of the“New Bach Edition – Revised” in what is presumably its original form in C major with three trumpets. This orchestration is more typical of Bach’s writing than the version for three horns in the surviving B-flat major version. from the Opera 'Tannhauser'-During his time in Weimar (1848 1861) Liszt developed a then entirely new organ style which stands out for both orchestral and pianistic elements. Together with the choirmaster Alexander Wilhelm Gottschalg (1827 1908) from Tiefurt he regularly initiated so-called 'organ conferences'. And it was at the suggestion of Gottschalg that the present arrangement of the Pilgrim's Choir from the opera 'Tannhäuser' was written. With his version for organ Liszt by means of this example laid the foundations for the (not always undisputed) tradition extending to the present day of organ transcriptions from the operas of Wagner. 'Organistic' elements in the Pilgrims' Choir are theclassical chorale theme the solemn 'sacred' atmosphere of the solemn tempo as well as the expressive cantability. The linear intensification from the antiphonal-organ-like piano dolce of the beginning to the 'full organ' can be realized in a convincing manner with an orchestrally conceived three-manual organ with the sensitive use of the swell box and the successive seamless build-up of the crescendo pedal being of particular significance. Important repertoire piece marking the 200th birthday of Richard Wagner in 2013.

BWV 248. Par BACH JOHANN SEBASTIAN. For this edition, Carsten Klomp has transferred the orchestral movement of the 1st cantata from Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio to the organ. It not only enables a performance with a reduced line-up, but also a tonally appealing and surprisingly coherent rendition of this wonderful music. The way the voices are distributed on the manuals and pedal and the balance between virtuosity and good playability ensure both proximity to the original score and an organ-appropriate implementation. Instead of a simple piano reduction on the organ, this version offers an independent performance option that allows the organ to be used in all of its facets and possibilities. The vocal parts (solos and choir) are identical to the edition of the original version (Carus 31.248/00), so that the piano reduction and choral score can be used. The single part for the organ was optimized for page turning, i.e. the choral parts were not printed, but the dacapo was always notated out. / Date parution : 2021-12-09/ Répertoire / Orgue

This frenetic assortment of familiar chorale melodies by Martin Luther was composed to mark the celebrations of Luther's music (and the 800th anniversary of the choir of St Thomas in Leipzig) in 2012. Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott [A mighty fortress is our God] appears as a powerful ritornello theme, elaborated with tender lyricism just before the end. A chorale setting of Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich [Lord, in thy mercy grant us peace] makes a calm middle section for this otherwise highly demanding organ piece. The 2012 setting for organ duet has been arranged as a virtuoso work for organ solo in 2015. An organ with three manuals is required. / Orgue

Orgelbogen - 17 Preludes and Chorale Fantasies (1955- 2014) by Per Nørgård. Edited by Ivan Hansen. A review in the July/August issue of Choir and Organ magazine stated that Orgelbogen is comprised of 'rigorous works in and uncompromising idiom by a major figure far removed from the world of the Anglican organ loft and choir stalls' concluding that '[a]nyone with an interest in contemporary composition for organ should investigate this - it's a beacon of clear-minded compositional integrity. A review in the May-July 2016 edition of 'The Organ' Magazine states that 'the inherentquality' of this publication makes it 'very strongly recommended to organists of all ages and technical accomplishment.'

J. S. Bach (1685-1750) was a German Baroque composer who is revered for the originality and skill of his contrapuntal and harmonic techniques. He spent most of his life working as an organist and choirmaster but was also employed as a composer a many different Royal Courts. However his skill as an organist and composer for Organ is what gained him the reputation he enjoyed during his lifetime. This is perhaps epitomised by his Fantasia and Fugue in G Minor (BWV 542) often referred to as the Great Fantasia and Fugue. It has been edited by Sir Frederick Bridge and James Higgs.

As ever with one of the UK’s finest composers of ‘traditional modern’ organ music the work is literate idiomatic and pleasing to the ear. Making only moderate technical demands yet being full of colour and character this would be an excellent voluntary or recitalwork for any organist.' Sunday By Sunday December 2017

Among his most charming compositions are two suites for String Orchestra. The well-known organist and composer Wolfgang Stockmeier has arranged 'English Suite' for the Organ while keeping close to the original. The arrangement can be performed on the organ with brilliant effect transferring the atmosphere of the English late Romantic era onto the Organ.

Nico Muhly's Patterns is a work in four sections for solo Organ. Patterns was commissioned by the American Guild of Organists for the 2014 Biennial National Convention in Boston Massachusetts U.S.A.'Patterns is composed in four sections each of which is sort of a rhythmic étude. The first (?Move Along?) is a perpetual motion machine with staggered and angular rhythms thrown between the pedals and the left hand. The second movement (?Palindromes?) is calmer and is centered around an idée fixe in the left hand while the right hand interjects and ornaments. The pedals here are a clumsy cousin constantly upturning the sense of rhythmic stability. The third movement (?Similar?) is all to do with ways to divide up the bar: seven eight six five four ? it?s all there. Then the finale (?Very Fast Music?) is a perpetual motion machine on its highest setting ? manic and hyper with hiccoughs offsetting the regularity of some of the rhythms.' - Nico MuhlyStephen Farr in the September/October 2015 issue of Choir & Organ writes that this work is 'full of filigree figuration and no little rhythmic complexity.'

This work Jubilant March for Organ is one of many original works that Stainer composed for Novello. It suggests that the high esteem in which Stainer was held by his contemporaries for the excellence of his Organ playing was not misplaced and is quite a rare Stainer work by virtue of its non-religious nature.John Stainer’s life coincided almost exactly with the reign of Queen Victoria. From his humble beginnings as the son of a cabinet maker he rose through his own brilliant musical gifts application and vision to become one of the most celebrated musical persons of his time. He is still remembered for having reOrganized the St Paul’s choir and for raising musicalstandards among church musicians in general and for his pioneering musicological research into early music. His hymns and arrangements of carols retain some popularlity today as does his Passiontide oratorio The Crucifixion.

This work was written in December 1986 for a recital given by Hakim and his wife Marie-Bernadette Dufourcet at the Sacré-Cœur. It is conceived as a duo using the Grand Organ and Choir Organ in the Basilica. This antiphonal use of the organs is interpreted by the former Rector of the Sacré-Cœur Father François de Vorges as a ''dialogue between God and his faithful people recalling the dialogue of the angels and shepherds''. The theme and variations form of the Fantaisie lends itself very successfully to this well-known Christmas hymn.
