Nico Muhly 's Old Bones is a setting of four texts, three of which are the media's reaction to the discovery of the bones of Richard III in a Leicester car park, the fourth is a poem in praise of the man who supposedly killed the king. Arranged for Countertenor Voice and Lute, it was composed in 2013. According to Muhly , Old Bones  begins with a news report that is delivered as a recitative while the Lute parts go through a number of interesting patterns. The work sets two texts by Philippa Langley of the Richard III Society who, in a series of interviews, brought an emotion and passion to the rediscovery of the bones that humanised the remains and brought the life anddeath of the king to the public's attention. It is therefore fitting that Old Bones  ends with her words: Everyone else was looking at the old bones, and I was seeing the man..

A must have of James Swearingen’s arrangement of King’s classic Bonds of Unity March. While not difficult, this is one of King’s nicest marches and is an excellent selection for concert, festival, or contest use by bands of all levels. Saul was given its first performance under Handel’s direction at the Haymarket Theatre, London, on 16 January 1739. The original libretto (dated 1738) refers to the work as “an Oratorio or Sacred Drama”. This libretto was written by Charles Jennens (1700–1770), a wealthy amateur writer from Gopsall, Leicestershire. A letter of 28 July 1735 from Handel to Jennens suggests that a complete raft of the text already existed at that time.

Saul occupies an extraordinarily important position in the English oratorio tradition that Handel brought to perfection, standing alongside Israel in Egypt at the end of the first creative period of such works.
