Par UROS DOJCINOVIC. In this remarkable video/solo guitar recital, Serbian musician, composer, pedagogue and publisher, Uroandscaron - Dojcinovic, takes the listener on a musical journey through: Russia, Ukraine, Spain, South American, the Far East (Japan and China), and the Balkan countries of his native former Yugoslavia (Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia). Each piece includes a wealth of photo documentation (paintings, landscape photographs, portraits of famous composers, and authors of the works) featuring the Yugoslav Guitar Society collection. Also, this recital displays Dojcinovic's exceptional and refined technique and supreme interpretation. He obtained his Master's Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, where he took lessons in harmony, counterpoint and fugue with Peter Thomas, in 2004 and in 2007 his Master's Degree in Composition where he was tutored by Luc Van Hove and Wim Henderickx. He graduated a Master of the Performing Arts (Piano) at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in 2014 under the auspices of Johan Duijck. He received additional piano instruction at the hands of maestros Jonathan Powell, Eliane Rodrigues and Irene Russo. Currently he teaches courses in harmony, composition, solo piano andaccompaniment at the municipal academies for Music and Drama in Deurne and Wilrijk (Antwerp). 50 Easy Pieces from 5 Centuries. Par . For the Easy Concert Pieces series, the experienced piano teacher Monika Twelsiek compiled pleasant, easy piano pieces for beginners and published them in three volumes in progressive order. The three volumes are intended to complement a piano tutorial method and are particularly suitable for performance at auditions at music schools, for examinations and for competitions. They offer varied repertoire in a broad selection of pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. Volume 1 (ED 22547) can already be used by beginners, containing pieces in the five-note range and easy pieces spanning a single octave. Other criteria for selection are simple rhythms and very easy chords. Crossing the thumb underneath, playing several parts together and pedal use are not yet required. Volume 2 (ED 22548) contains pieces with an extended range of two octaves. Crossing the thumb under, pedal use, simple polyphony and three- or four-part chords all feature here, as do simple ornaments, cantabile playing and differentiating between melody and accompaniment. Volume 3 (ED 22549) is aimed at advanced players who wish to refine their expression and personal interpretation. Par LUKASZEWSKI PAWEL. In 2012, at the initiative of Pawel Wojciechowski, Pawel Lukaszewski composed Aria for cello and piano. The work was soon published, and a few years later further versions appeared for other solo instruments: soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, viola and violin. The composer wrote the original version for cello with his son Wojtek in mind, who had just completed his fourth year at a primary school of music, but the emotional charge contained in this composition will satisfy the interpretative demands of mature musicians as well, particularly since the composer left performers considerable scope for individual expression. With its harmonies, venturing beyond tonality towards jazz-influenced chords, its simple accompaniment, built from repeated motifs that spill between the plans of the two hands, and its consistent narrative, Aria displays a character that is on one hand somewhat nostalgic, and on the other filled with anxiety and hidden drama.
